Woohoo!! The Great Soap Sampling of 2019 is ON!

Sorry to hear that the Ghost Lime didn't sit well with your skin, but very glad to hear the Soapy Science was all good! That's one of the most under-rated soap makers on the market today. The kicker is that 10% of all sales go towards local charities, and it's done by a Father/Daughter duo. The daughter comes up with the scents, the father makes the soap. It started out following a school science experiment.

The Ghost Lime didn't react with my face as badly as it could have, but it is something that I probably shouldn't continue using.

I do like the story behind Soapy Science. It is really cool stuff.

I really like the Stirling badger brush also.

Shave Quality
MdC is a really nice soap. It performs well and has a light but pleasant scent. It lathered easily and was plenty slick during the shave. As many have said, it did lack in the post shave department. It was a little drying to my face but that was fixed by the aftershave balm. It is something I could definitely keep around, but it isn't elite. It might even be Tier 2 considering what many artisans are producing these days. The shave was quite enjoyable and I was BBS- afterwards.

Shave Quality
KMF is one of those really great products that doesn't get much attention. It is a solid performer that gives good post shave conditioning. It is widely available to boot. What's not to like? I got a thick, rich lather that left me just about BBS in two passes. It was a really great shave for a day when I didn't have much time to devote to the task.

Gear
The Rubin even at 8 is still milder than I really like. It is an interesting shaver, however.

Other Thoughts
Yay, weekend.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Nice to see you trying out all sorts of new soaps from KJ and Josh! Definitely a bummer about the Ghost Lime though as that is one of my favorites. Do you usually have a reaction to lime scented soaps? Or are you just cautious with most soaps because you have reactions to a bunch of different ones? Either way it is a shame because it seems that you like the performance and scent of Ghost Lime.

I usually have a reaction to lime soaps, so I avoid most citrus soaps.

Feeling lazy again and the Lollipop Citrus was sitting out, so it got used. The shave was excellent. Even at the highest setting the razor couldn't get me to full BBS. It was a great shave, however.

Gear
I am really enjoying the Stirling badger brush.

Other Thoughts
Watching "The Eiger Sanction" today. Such a great movie.

Shave Quality
This is a great soap. The performance is definitely high Tier 1, possibly elite. The lather was rich, slick, and protective. The scent is also great. However, I think I may have detected a bit of reaction to the lime in the soap at the very end of the shave. It was really good up until then. I may need to give this one one more try just to see. The Rapira with the DOC gave me a solid BBS. Overall it was a great shave.

Gear
I love the DOC Ascension. It is a really efficient razor.

Yay, Monday... Or something ...

This is an average soap with an interesting scent. It could have been a little more protective and the post-shave could be better, but it was a good shave overall.

All good.
