Doug's Journal of Shaving Happiness v2.0

Nice shave Doug! Haven’t tried the Baby Smooth or Game Changer, but I’ve heard they’re both well worth the money. I’ve also heard the Mamba is very good too.

Hey, what happened to the rest of your brush? That is one stubby little dude.

Shave Quality
The first pass was good. The second pass scraped lots. I got a decent shave overall. The lather was great as usual. I can't complain too much. There was no blood and no lasting irritation.

Gear
The Assured razor seems to be a knock off of a Weishi 9306. I don't think it is actually a Weishi because the build quality is not as good. The doors don't align exactly correctly on one side and they have micro-pits. I am not sure how long the razor will hold up, but I think I can get some good shaves from it while it lasts.

Other Thoughts
The Magicians is a good series.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Shave Quality
Friday's shave was okay. It was much the same as shave #1 with the Assured razor and blade combo. It was a bit rough but overall a decent shave.

Today I decided to go for broke. I went dolphin chasing with the Assured combo. I did four passes with great Stubble Buster lather and careful monitoring of blade angle. There was some residual irritation, so I can't really say that I am DSBBS. However, I got really close. I will call it full-on BBS+ despite some lasting tenderness. The blade actually performed. I felt it wanting to bite and so had to make several angle adjustments and really rode the cap. It was four passes of good shave.

Gear
The Brad Sears brush holds a ton of lather!

Other Thoughts
I like where I am at right now in life. I just need to take off a few more pounds.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Nice approach to the Dollar Tree Razor. Nothing like going all in! There have been a lot of us around here who have had success trimming a few pounds. If you need some suggestions or just want to talk about something...reach out...I am sure all of us are happy to give our opinions!

Shave Quality
My three shaves with the Assured combo are over, so it is back to better shaving. Some (NurseDave and Chad?) might consider this razor to be a risk or a stunt shave, but I get good results from it as long as I only use one blade. Putting two in the razor changes the performance for me in a negative direction, and does it quite drastically. However, today's shave was amazing. I only did my usual two passes, but I wanted to go for three. I am full-on BBS after those two passes, and could have gotten to complet
e dolphin skin had I added a third. Time being what it was, I couldn't really afford the third pass. Everything clicked this morning. It was fabulous.

Gear
The Stubble Buster is down to a thin layer on the bottom of the tub. It wants to bunch up along the sides of the container, so I have to keep pressing it back down after every load. This 3017 is going to be over soon.

Last. night I compared the Assured razor to my Van Der Hagen/Weishi TTO. It is a knock off of the Weishi 9306. The Weishi is constructed completely from metal. The Assured has a plastic handle. The Weishi is noticeably heavier than the Assured. The QC also appears to be better.

Other Thoughts
Working from home today since it is snowing heavily in Denver. I really hope that the snow is this heavy in the mountains so that the reservoirs get filled in the spring run-off.

I actually like that razor as long as there is only one blade in it. Don't worry, it will make more appearances.

Shave Quality
The second shave on the Rapira Super Stainless in the Savier was as good as the first. I think I have found the perfect blade combo for this razor and my face. It was a two pass, long lasting BBS+. This combo could become a staple in my den, especially since it is easy to find the angle.

The Assured blade on the other hand... Well, that was still a good shave, but with lots more tugging and pulling. I still managed BBS-.

Gear
The Stubble Buster is almost gone. I think it only has a handful of shaves left. I am going to miss it when it is gone. I am really enjoying the scent. I do recommend giving this soap line a try, especially if you like the CFG soap performance but don't necessarily care for the scents. I really like both CFG and SB.

Other Thoughts
Today has been a good day. I have been at my new job for approximately six weeks now and I feel like it is very much the right place for me. These are my kind of people, the geekiest and nerdiest of the geeks and nerds.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.
