Doug's Journal of Shaving Happiness v2.0

Good shaves! I ran my Ming Shi up to 3 before I PIFed it to my stepson. He loves that razor. You plow through soaps. Do you prep them with one of those small garden hand rakes or something?

Oh ... is it there yet?

Shave Quality
A third great shave with the Ming Shi. Today was a bit rough on my neck, but overall rather good. Two passes with great lather.

Gear
I left the lid off of the Stubble Buster last night. This morning it loaded more normally. It just had too much water in it.

Other Thoughts
Hopefully box two will be here soon.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Today's was a little more rough and gave me a single tiny spot of red. However, overall it was a good shave. I would call it DFS+ in two passes.

Gear
Today I noticed that the bottom of the tub is showing through the puck of Stubble Buster. It is going fast.

Box 2 is here.

He knew that the goodies were coming from Josh, so he asked me for a little help lol.

The PAL Injector is a really great razor. I am glad that I found it.

Giving the Baby Smooth a good test run.

Shave Quality
So, my last three shaves have been with this setup. I wanted to give the Baby Smooth a good run, and so I did. The first thing that I noticed about the razor is the blade feel. There is a healthy amount of blade feel with this razor. It is a somewhat mild razor, but I did get lit up with irritation the first shave with it. I got the angle wrong and paid for it. Part of the problem for me is the weight, specifically the lack of it. This is a feather weight razor. Finding the right angle isn't too hard, the second and third shave were much, much better. However, the lightness of the razor can lead to some problems with pressure. The three shaves were all good. But this is a razor that takes a bit of getting used to. I have been consistently BBS with it.

Gear
The Baby Smooth is a good razor, but I like the Game Changer .68 better.

The Stubble Buster is disappearing fast, but the shaves are excellent.

The Brad Sears brush is nice and soft. The knot is dense and very wide. It is less floppy than my vintage Made Rite or my WCS Silvertip. The handle is comfortable. This brush is everything a high-end badger brush should be. I can see this brush being my first choice for whenever I am in the mood for a badger or feel like pampering my face more than usual, and it will see frequent use, but I will probably still use my synthetics more. If I were a face latherer this would be my go-to brush. But the synthetics are faster at making a dense lather in my shave mug. Thank you, Josh, for allowing me to experience the high-end of the brush market. After using this I will probably get rid of most of my lower-end badgers.

Other Thoughts
It is another busy week for me, but the unboxing video is finally uploading to YouTube.
