Doug's Journal of Shaving Happiness v2.0

I was a bit behind, but caught up. Great shave Axe! Bummer about the irritation on day one of the 3017. I had a bad shave with irritation for two days in a row. Today's irritation may be due to your day one shave. You might take a day off to recover.

I do have some Stubble Buster in my stash, so I can switch it up if I need to.

With the Honeybee Sue Shave tomorrow my face should get a bit of a break.

Shave Quality
Perhaps I should have called the audible for today, but I went ahead with the shave anyway. The soap irritated my face again, but it was less today than yesterday. This makes me think it might be facial tenderness from the New Year's Day shave, not the soap itself that is causing me problems.

Tomorrow I will have a Honeybee shave (with a different scent than the Oakmoss) and will see how it goes.

Gear
With all the talk about the 6C lately, I just had to pull mine out today. The Shark SS was way, way too mild with the R1 plate in my 6C. There were times that I couldn't feel the blade, just the safety bar.

Other Thoughts
Feeling good about life and my new job right now.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Glad the irritation is subsiding. Thanks for reminding me about the Honeybee shave tomorrow!

I never even tried the 1, and I thought 2 was useless. Three or four is where you should start.

My face hates me this week, I guess.

Another day and another burning shave. This is the second Honeybee soap that has set my face on fire. This time it was almost from the moment that the brush hit my face. I guess there is something in the soap base that doesn't agree with me. Or else the dry winter air here in Colorado is messing with my face. I don't know what is going on, but I this is the third soap that I have reacted with inside of two weeks. Perhaps I really need a day off, or else need to shave with a soap I know doesn't make my face burn. I just don't know. I can tell you that this sucks.

Honeybee soaps have great scents. I love to put my nose in them. I just can't shave with them I guess. ?

Other Thoughts
It has been a good week except for the shaves and the fact that I broke my favorite mug this morning. Next week will be a better shaving week, hopefully.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

That stinks. I would use a known good soap and if still get reaction it is face healing from a rough shave or dry skin from the weather/season. Hope you nail it down. I been there.

Dang, big bummer on the Honeybee soaps. Hope you figure out the issue.

Now that I’ve used them more, they have been giving me some pretty decent shaves, along the lines of modern Williams (though maybe not as slick). I’ve enjoyed it.

Dude don’t torture yourself. If your face starts to burn, rinse it all off and whip up something that works for you.
