I binned the Shark SS early in favor of a Voskhod and the PAA DOC Ascension. This is definitely a more aggressive razor than the SS. There was definitely more blade feel. However, the shave was closer with less work. The lather was excellent. I came out BBS for my last day at my old employer.

Gear
Voskhods need no review from me. They are a winner for many of the Cadre members. I like them too.

The SS DOC Ascension. I have sung the praises of this razor here before. It is a well made piece of shaving hardware. It is worth every penny that I spent on it.

Other Thoughts
And I am done. On to the next job. I have a number of complaints about my previous employer, which I shared with my boss over the last several months. I think they will change, but not on a time table that I am comfortable with. My new job is a great opportunity and I plan to maximize it. Monday is going to be a great day.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Love that feeling of walking off the end of your last shift at a job you voluntarily left. It’s quite uplifting, especially when better things are ahead. We’re rooting for you Doug!

Shave Quality
The Voskhod was not as smooth in the Slim today, but it was still a good shave. I was running late so I took it a bit faster than I normally do. This may have contributed to the increased roughness. The lather could have been better, but it wasn't bad. Overall it was a decent shave.

Gear
The Slim is a great razor. I will be shaving with it again tomorrow.

Other Thoughts
Looking forward to Monday.

A Happy Birthday shave for The Monkey with some Oz Shaving.

Shave Quality
Today was a slightly better shave with the Slim and the Voskhod. I am BBS- and very happy. The lather was good, but it was a bit too dry. The Oz Shaving soap is a little more thirsty than I expected.
It still gave great performance with really good post-shave.

Gear
The Woodsman scent of the soap was really nice. It is light on the puck and remains at about the same strength once lathered. It provided a pleasant undertone to the shave today, rather than an in-your-face wake up that some soaps can be. The shave performance of the soap is good, definitely Tier 1. I don't think I gave it enough water, however. The lather was good, but could have been better. Post-shave from the soap is great. I think CBL and PAA are better, but this is definitely really, really good. I think I am going to put it at Box 2 on the Vargo Scale. The scents of the Oz Shaving soaps are excellent, if a little on the light side. There are several that I would love to shave with. The performance is also great. I think these soaps are definitely worth keeping in the den.

Other Thoughts
Need to get a good night's sleep tonight for my first day tomorrow. I think this is going to be a fun workplace with lots of fun and interesting challenges.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Great shave Doug and hope day 1 is stellar setting the tone for the days to come there. Afterall, down the road they'll be the ones counter offering ?

The PAA soap + Merkur 34c + Timor together made for a really nice shave. This is a good blade. The lather was good. The Merkur 34c is still one of the best per
forming razors in my den.

Gear
All good.

Well sounds like there’s a lot to learn but also a lot of good people behind you. Good deal.
