Looking at those turkish bowls. Do you have one that has grooves or anything in the mug to help with lather building?

Come on, everyone has one. Just dooooo it. And get a 2nd cause they're so cheap!

Just catching up. Blade exchange sounds pretty cool. I may have a few rando's to donate to the cause. Randomly collected a bunch of one ofs from BST and trades.

What's black and silver that gives great shaves?

The Kiritimati continues to perform. The Treet Platinum gave me a great shave in one of my Black Beauty SSes. I was almost full-up BBS, however the Treet blades, while they are good at knocking down the whiskers, don't really make for a long lasting BBS. They are still good blades.

Gear
All good in the neighborhood.

Other Thoughts
Today I put a bunch of blades in the mail and got my Rudolph package on its way. I feel accomplished. I hope that my Rudolph buddy likes his gift. I had a hard time figuring out what to get him that he doesn't already have. Also, I hope that Chad like the multitude of blades that I sent him for his bad blades trial.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Doug are you a fan of all things Treet? Which others would you consider? I don’t know why I keep searching. I found 3 blades I could live with the rest of my life and 4 -5 blades that are perfectly great.

I've tried a couple different Treet Blades before and wasn't crazy about them. Though I don't think I have tried the Platinum version.

Nice thoughts on the shave!

\nThey produce a bunch of different blade models (See: http://treetonline.com/product-category/treet-products/conventional-blades/). I haven\'t tried them all. I have had good shaves from the TRBC (i.e. Black Beauty), Classic, Silver, and Platinum. Of those the Classic are my favorite, but they are hard to find in the US. I will eventually try their other models. Almost all of them are available from TryABlade.

Great shave today. The Shark gave a slightly closer shave than the Treet Platinum. I added a bit too much water to the lather today and got a thinner, wetter product than I normally like. It still allowed the razor to skate on my face for BBS and a smile.

Yup, Chad was right. (Shocking, I know.) The Shark SS is good stuff. I think it is going to be a bit picky about which razor it likes, but the black handle Super Speed seemed to get along very well with it.

The Christmas presents have started to arrive. I am glad that I looked out on our porch this morning as there was an Amazon delivery there. It is good that it didn't sit outside all day. So, your PSA for today is to remember that it is a season full of deliveries that can come when you least expect. Make sure you check your delivery locations often.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Good advice on checking for deliveries regularly! Porch thieves abound during the holidays!

Another really great shave from the Shark SS and PAA Kiritimati. The WCS brush is finally giving me the lather that I want. More on that in the gear section. I had 3+ passes worth of dense lather that smelled heavenly. The Shark SS + Gillette SS worked that BBS magic on my face. There was very little alum feedback. A healthy splash of the AS and I am feeling like a Christmas Pirate. It was a great way to start my second to last day at my current employer.

Gear
the PAA Kiritimati soap is a fabulous scent (Scent Notes: Frankincense, Myrhh, Bay, Seaweed, Oakwood, Ambergris, Benzoin, Blue Spruce, Tobacco, Labdanum, and Lavender) and the CK Kokum Butter formula is Definitely TIer 1, Box 1 on the Vargo Scale. I would rank it just a bit below the CBL soap base due to not having quite as good of a post-shave feel. The scent more than makes up for it. I am not a huge Bay Rum fan, but this one is killer. (I still need to try PAA's other Bay Rums.)

The PAA Kiritimati aftershave splash is definitely interesting. The scent profile is still an absolute knock out like the soap, but the performance of the AS is interesting. There is a West Indian Bay leaf in every bottle as well as some sediment from the making and aging of the product. The Bay leaf over time "enhances" certain qualities of the aftershave. (Please note: I bought this soap and AS for Christmas 2017 but did not finish the whole product at that time.) The aftershave gets a hot streak from the Bay leaf. There is a rather intense burn from the Bay as it goes on, kinda like menthol in reverse. It doesn't last too long, but it is eye opening. The dry down is worth it. The scent lasts all day. It makes for quite an experience.

The WCS Silvertip is a good brush. I think it has finally stopped shedding. It lost 5-6 hairs the first use and 1 almost every shave since. I didn't notice any hair loss today. The knot is 26mm dense, soft, and floppy badger hair. It splays really wide with little downward pressure. Anyone who is a face latherer and is looking for a budget Silvertip might want to give this one a try. I still think it is not a great brush for bowl lathering. It works, don't get me wrong, but I think synthetics and boars give better, faster results when used with a bowl. This brush is a keeper, and a good purchase that I will continue to enjoy. However, it is never going to be my first choice of brush. I have only one badger so far that I think is better, and that is the vintage Made Rite that I found in the wild.

I have had several people take me up on my offer of a tuck of Parker PP blades since Chad reviewed them. This makes me happy. I think the blade is top notch and I hope that others like it as much as I do. I bought most of them when Parker was still doing their introductory special, so I got a deal on them. It is nice to be able to share them and get more people interested.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

The Parker blades are so reasonably priced, I almost wonder if they will become my go-to blade. I am going to be using one in my some of my other razors just to see how universal it is. I have high expectations.
