Doug's Journal of Shaving Happiness v2.0

Definitely sounds like a relaxing evening! Great shave too lol. I’m still looking to get DFS consistently out of three passes and here you are getting BBS in 2 lol. Good stuff!

Was going to say the same thing.

Can you elaborate on extended use face feel with the CBL?

Using the soap day in and day out has definitely left my skin softer and smoother. My face still feels great even after my whiskers start coming back in. The skin conditioning properties of this soap are really great.

It is hard to have a bad morning when your face feels this good. My skin feels younger and softer after using the CBL soap for as long as I have. The Big Ben blade is not as good as the GSB, but it still gave me great results. Today I am BBS- with a tiny bit of extra irritation on my neck. It was still a great shave.

Gear
I like the Big Ben blades. They work well. They might even be worthy of a 100 pack, but I won't be buying more.

Other Thoughts
Got some great news today. I will have more info later.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Good to know about the CBL properties. I have been rotating through much. Maybe I should just stick to the good stuff!

I don’t have any 2 oz tubs anymore. I bought 2 of each and made a 4oz tub for each. I like having more surface area for loading.
Right! I forgot about your consolidation of the soaps... Could I convince you to do a CBL challenge then? Use each scent that you own for a week, one after another, until you have used every CBL scent you own at least once. You should definitely feel the difference after doing that.

Im pretty much doing that now. I’m going through all my new scents. I have more than a weeks worth. But I also have a beard for no shave November, so I’m not getting the soap on my cheeks where I’d notice.

Shave Quality
I would say that my shaves are getting boring, but how can excellent BBS or near-BBS shaves be boring? Today was another one. The lather was great and the razor gave me no real trouble. I did have to press the soap down into the bottom of the container today, however. A hole had opened in the bottom of the puck with plenty still around the edges. So, I pressed it down to fill in the hole, but it didn't fill in all the way. I may be a week or so away from finishing this tub. Time will tell.

Gear
Rapira Stainless (red and blue package) are decent blades.

Other Thoughts
The waiting is the hardest part.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Chad has some blades he could suggest for making your shaves more interesting.

Oh Dave what you don't realize is that Doug is the one sending the bad baldes! Him and that fellow named Sharps. Between the two of them they want to see BLOOD!

As to Doug, 12 shaves and already seeing the bottom. WOW are you loading like a mad man?

\n\nlove the feeling of first breaking that hole thinking to myself the end is near. Fast forward three week later realizing that I still might have a month in my puck.
\nIt is a great feeling when you first see the bottom through the puck. The appearance of the doughnut hole can definitely be deceiving. \n\n

\nI don\'t need blood. Irritation and lots of cursing on camera is a different situation.\n\nI don\'t know that I am loading like a mad man, but I do load it like it owes me money.

Shave Quality
Well, today certainly wasn't a boring shave. Switching from a 40's Style Super Speed to a Flare Tip Super Speed is a definite change in aggression. The Flare Tip definitely has more blade feel and I think the razor holds the blade flatter than the 40's Style. Whatever the change, this razor requires a shallower angle and lighter touch than I gave it today. The lather was stellar as always, but I still came away with lots of irritation. I just don't spend enough time with my Super Speeds, I guess.

Gear
I am definitely doing something wrong with the Flare Tip.

Other Thoughts
Hopefully the process will complete quickly so that I can safely tell everyone my news.
