Doug's Journal of Shaving Happiness v2.0

Doug sorry the day wasn't good today at work. Hopefully it's better tomorrow. Year end processes start for us next month. I despise this time of year.

Sorry about the bad day at work Doug. Hope tomorrow brings better things!

What are you going to switch the brush out to?

Bad days suck. But we all have them from time to time. Hopefully it wasn't bad enough to have lingering effects and you can just move on to this morning and start anew! It is Friday after all!

Shave Quality
Another day, another BBS-. No changes is line up. If I could only have one of each shaving item, this would be a good lineup to have. Everything works great.

Gear
Definitely time to switch up the brush. I am neglecting my herd of brushes.

Last night I weighed the Tabac puck. It was at 374 grams. This means that I have used 67 grams of soap since starting this 3017 at the beginning of the month. This puts me at about 2.8 grams per shave. Also, this was a 125 gram puck, so I have used half of it up to this point. I knew that I was loading the bloomed puck hard, but I didn't realize I was hate loading quite that much. This puck isn't going to last too much past the end of the month at this rate. I wish that I could say I feel bad about using this much product, but the shaves have been so over the top spectacular that I just can't feel bad. I guess I need to figure out what is next up on the kill list much sooner than I expected.

Other Thoughts
So far no repercus
sions from yesterday. I think it will get resolved without forcing me to go to HR. Today is a much better day. I am optimistic that things will be resolved positively for all involved.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

I'm glad today is better, but you didn't need to take it out on us via bingo!

Glad to hear that today was a better day at work.

So after the Tabac, what soaps are in the running for next up?

That's going to be a tough choice. Or just rotate them a week at a time - call it a, "modified 3017".

Well, I would say one of the CBL tubs...but that soap is so good that if you decide to 3017 one of those...youo just won't stop using CBL!

Shave Quality
As usual I wasn't on the forum much this weekend. I tend not to spend much time online on most Saturdays and Sundays.

As usual the shaves were great. Wonderful lather. Great razor and blade performance. BBS or near BBS. Could a wet shaver ask for more?

Gear
The 316 Stainless Steel PAA DOC Ascension is quickly turning into my favorite razor. I will have to do a couple of comparison shaves between it and the Merkur 34c to see which one comes out on top. But, even if the Ascension doesn't take the top spot from the 34c, it has definitely earned itself a place in the "desert island" dopp kit. I love the performance and love the handle. The knurling could be a bit more pronounced, but that is nitpicking.

The RR 24mm Finest is a nice bulb knot. It has more scritch than other badgers that I have used, but for $25 with a nice heavy handle you are getting a really good value for your money. Unfortunately, this one is still shedding a bit. I have used it a handful of times before now, but maybe I didn't break it in enough? I hope it stops dropping hairs soon. Still, I think it is a very nice brush.

Other Thoughts
Ugh, Mondays are rough. I hope that this is a quiet week at work.

We finished AHS:Cult this weekend. I am really looking forward to the next season. This is a very well done series. I think Roanoke (season 6) is my favorite since it is a bit more of a traditional horror story than the others, but Murder House (season 1) is stellar, and Hotel (season 5) is top notch. All of the series is well written and very, very watchable. What series (Netflix or Amazon) should I watch next???

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.
