Shave Quality
The OLD Type is a nice shaver. It left me a little tender today, but I am definitely BBS-. My face feels soft, but a little dry. I may need to use a bit more of the AV 5-in-1 during the colder months. It was a good shave. However, I always feel like I should be using a carbon steel blade in my OLD Types. Stainless feels too new for the OLD Type.

Gear
The Tabac is working great for me. I have started blooming the puck and using the bloom water in my shave mug. The lather is wet, rich, and thick. This is definitely a desert island worthy shave soap. Yesterday after my shave the tub with lid weighed 416 grams, which makes for 25 grams over 15 shaves or 1.67 grams per shave. I am going to keep blooming and loading it hard. If I stay at the current usage the Tabac will last me until the end of the year. However, I didn't start blooming the puck until a few shaves ago, so it might go faster since it seems like blooming allows me to load more heavily.

Other Thoughts
Today the snow is almost completely gone and it is in the high 50's. Today feels more like autumn.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Shave Quality
Another day, another OLD Type. I decided to give a Treet Silver a try in one. The shave was decent, leaving me DFS+ with some irritation. Not my best shave ever, but far from my worst. This time I had some irritation in my mustache area, which is odd for me. I went heavier on the water today and got a wet slick pile of wonderful suds.

Gear
The Treet Silvers have worked well for me in other razors. While it wasn't horrible in the OLD Type, it wasn't great. I think I will be avoiding this combination in the future.

Other Thoughts
I have a big pile of strawberries to eat today. Two pounds of them. Yum!

I love strawberries! One of the few fruits I still partake in from time to time. Good read today...the Treets that I have tried in the past have never really worked out well for me.

Strawberries are my favorite fruit. I may not eat the whole two pounds today, but I might get close.

I have had good luck with the Treet Black Carbons and the Treet Platinums. The Silvers have been a mixed bag so far.

Two pounds of strawberries sounds awesome. And I can see how easy it would be to just devour them in a sitting.

Shave Quality
I was really pressed for time today since I had to get to the local Firestone for my appointment for new tires. (BTW, I hate spending money on cars.) The OLD Type was perhaps a risky choice, but I finished a full two pass shave in under 15 minutes with only a single tiny weeper for a decent DFS+. And, there wasn't too much residual irritation. Good stuff. The lather was too dry, however. I definitely needed more water today. It was still Tabacalicious, however. That makes it hard to complain about. Tomorrow's shave needs to be a more lazy one. I also need to take some more pics for the OCtober thread.

Gear
The Treet Black was a little better than yesterday's blade. It didn't get a fair shake today because I was going too fast and my angles were off here and there. I might give this one a go again tomorrow, if it isn't rusted out.

Other Thoughts
You lot are some of the worst enablers in the world. I wasn't going to buy the WWSC seasonal release, especially after putting in a new order to CBL today. But now I am sitting here with one in my cart and thinking that I should add at least one more to m
ake the shipping worthwhile. I guess they can bury me with my unused soap when I die.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Nice stuff Doug but really to make shipping worth it with them 3 is a minimum...............you're welcome

The problem with this is that you are absolutely right.
