Shave Quality
The OLD Type is a nice shaver. It left me a little tender today, but I am definitely BBS-. My face feels soft, but a little dry. I may need to use a bit more of the AV 5-in-1 during the colder months. It was a good shave. However, I always feel like I should be using a carbon steel blade in my OLD Types. Stainless feels too new for the OLD Type.
Gear
The Tabac is working great for me. I have started blooming the puck and using the bloom water in my shave mug. The lather is wet, rich, and thick. This is definitely a desert island worthy shave soap. Yesterday after my shave the tub with lid weighed 416 grams, which makes for 25 grams over 15 shaves or 1.67 grams per shave. I am going to keep blooming and loading it hard. If I stay at the current usage the Tabac will last me until the end of the year. However, I didn't start blooming the puck until a few shaves ago, so it might go faster since it seems like blooming allows me to load more heavily.
Other Thoughts
Today the snow is almost completely gone and it is in the high 50's. Today feels more like autumn.
Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.
