Doug's Journal of Shaving Happiness v2.0

I have to make my posts as vague as possible so that KJ can get the full enjoyment out of my journal.

What a difference a blade makes...

Shave Quality
The Big Ben blade made for a better shave today in the V2OC. There was almost no alum feedback. It was a very good shave. The alcohol in the AS left me feeling a bit dry, however. That is not unexpected for this time of year.

Gear
Big Ben is darn good blade for me, sharp and smooth.

Other Thoughts
My den overflows with software these days. It is going to take me years to 3017 all of this soap.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Shave Quality
The shave was a bit scratchy in places but left me full-on BBS with no lasting irritation. There was a single pinprick weeper that closed up on its own. It was two passes of smooth and soft skin. Tabac leaves my face feeling great.

Gear
PAA really does make great products. The Bakelite Slant is light weight and a an efficient shaver. I am a fan of their hardware and software.

German Wilkies are a favorite. Astra SPs might be a bit better, but it is mostly a toss-up. Wilkies are just great steel.

Other Thoughts
It really is a joy to acquire.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

I'm a fan of heavier razors myself, but it's awesome when you find something that just meshes with you. Full-on BBS ain't too shabby.

Soap/Cream: Tabac (15)
AS 1: Thayer's Rose Witch Hazel

I still like the Piccolo, but the DOC Ascension is better.

Shave Quality
BBS but with some lasting neck irritation today. Everything else was great. I am still in love with Tabac. However, I think the Piccolo is falling out of my list of best razors. Perhaps the German Wilkie is just not the right blade for it.

Good stuff all around

Other Thoughts
It snowed most of the weekend here. I imagine much of it will evaporate today or tomorrow, but it is white out there now. I am not a fan of the cold.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.
