The MJ-90 really delivers.

Shave Quality
After two passes (ATG, XTG) of stellar AOS lather I finished my shave just shy of BBS. A light touch with the MJ-90 with the German Wilkie Sword worked wonders on my face and neck. The alum just barely registered on my neck and not at all on my face. It was a killer shave with smoothness that lasted into the afternoon.

Gear
The MJ-90 is probably the best EJ style razor on the market currently. The aluminum head is a great performer and the titanium handle is feather light.

The German Wilkie Swords are really good blades for me, just not in every razor.

Other Thoughts
If an artisan produces colognes to go with their shave soaps and aftershaves do you gents tend to buy them or skip them?

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Nice shave Doug ! I'm not a big cologne guy so I tend to stick with just the Aftershave. Of course with the enabling here that could change down the road..........................................

I don't tend to buy the scents, but I probably should. I think part of it is cost. Compared to the soap, a scent is expensive so I only buy the soap to make sure I like it. Then I just never go back and buy the scent. I'll get the matching aftershave more often, which I treat like a scent. I think the only matching scent I have now is GTB and I have Fine Platinum on the way.

I have a mishmosh of soaps an AS for the most part. The only matches I have are Proraso Red AS and Green balm.

Good read Doug...I tend to not get the matching frag most of the time. I do own WSP Matterhorn, Fine American Blend, B&M Le Grand Chypre and CFG GTB, but probably won't be purchasing any more as SWMBO's sniffer is extremely sensitive.

Shave Quality
Today I pulled out the W1 Black Beauty Adjustable. This razor was a PIF from the very generous @HighspeedLane from when we were both on the other forum site. It is a great tool for an "Adjustable Friday" shave. The AOS continues to perform for me. It just feels like a million bucks on my face. The German Wilkie is doing well. I gave it a really light touch today and I am focusing on taking fewer strokes on my face. After the shave I am at BBS- and loving it.

Gear
The Gillette SA is dynamite shaver. The handle is light so the weight is all in the head. This makes it a bit easier to use with light pressure for me since the head wants to rest against the face naturally when holding it low on the handle. I think I may actually like the SA better than the Slim or Fatboy.

German Wilkinson Sword FTW!

Other Thoughts
I really like purchasing matched sets of soap, AS, and EdP/EdT. Getting matched sets of things is one of my quirky OCD things. It just bothers me when the cologne costs as much as, or more than, the soap and AS combined. #wetshaverproblems, right? So far GTB is one of the only sets of soap, AS, and EdP that I have. It was totally worth the money. But now that more artisans are getting into the cologne business I have one more acquisition disorder developing. I have a few other frags, but I am not really a cologne guy. I see that changing, however.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Whaaaat? ?

I just wish matching soaps and aftershaves lasted the same numbers of shaves. It’s like having plenty of hamburgers but not enough buns.

....The AOS continues to perform for me. It just feels like a million bucks...

I just used the AoS Ocean Kelp a day or so ago and I know what you mean. I've got the AoS Sandalwood cued up for sometime in the next week or so.

Great shaves Doug!

That's one heck of a coffee machine!

I don't have a lot of matching frags, I do tend to get matching AS's. Probably more due to that until recently there wasn't as many artisans offering frags.

Did some catching up, Doug, and there was some great stuff here! Dig the coffee machine, as well. Unfortunately I have to wean myself off the caffeine between now and my surgery, since I won't be able to have some for a few weeks. So difficult!

Call me jealous of the coffee rig. And jealous again that the adjustable works for ya. A few years ago, I spent a lot of time investigating adjustables from fats, slim, black beauty, etc and none of them liked me very much. Even found my birth year the 1984 black beauty adjustable - unfortunately sold it since it sat there gaining dust.

A very nice Tuesday BBS

Shave Quality
Today I loaded a Baili Super Blue blade into one of my Merkur 38c razors. After two passes with a slightly wet and sloppy lather I walked away full-on BBS with very little alum feedback and no lasting irritation.

Gear
I am not sure where these Super Blue (i.e. Super Stainless) blades are actually made but they work well for me. The Chinese made shaving products that I have used have all been inexpensive, but they are not cheap. There is decent quality to be found in these products.

Other Thoughts
Contemplating a purchase since it is my birthday this week. I just don't know what to get.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

NIce catch up here Doug. FYI I will get to the post office hopefully tomorrow.
