Doug's Journal of Shaving Happiness v2.0

Good stuff Doug...hopefully subsequent uses of the brush help tone down any irritation that it might have caused.

I tried a PAL once...man that thing shaves! Shaved the side of my cheek off!

Sounds like a good shave nonetheless. I too have been wanting to see Ant Man and the Wasp.

Haven’t heard of a brush causing irritation with a shave.

It is not so much the brush, but any chemicals that the knot was treated with during production. I have heard of them being treated in order to de-funk them before shipping.

The shave today was better than yesterday. The shave was smooth and efficient. Also, there was less of that tingling irritation. I will call it BBS- in two passes. There was minimal alum feedback.

There is one word for the PAL adjustable... 'Jectah!

The Made Rite is a very good brush.

Monday is... well... Monday. It is not a good day yet, but it is not a horror show either.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

That is the something new I'll learn today.

Yeah, you always want to wash a new brush first before using. Some folks sell a special brush cleaning soap. I wash with dish soap, then give it a good lather with a regular shave soap.

Why use chemicals? I say let it be funky! That’s half the fun of breaking in a new brush anyway, right? And it doesn’t last long.

I shampooed the brush once, but I should have lathered it up once or twice before using it. I think it was the brush that was causing my problems yesterday.

I agree with letting it be funky. Dealing with that wet dog smell in a new badger, or the pig smell of a boar, is kind of a rite of passage. It only lasts a handful of shaves anyway.

I used a bit too much pressure today, so I have a bit more irritation than I should. However, it was still a really good two pass shave for BBS-. It is interesting how different the lather created by a badger is than the lather created by a boar.

I haven't used the British Sterling in a while and it called to me this morning. I love the scent.

Yesterday was a crap day. Today is feeling like it will be better.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

I hope today is indeed looking up for you!

Sorry to hear about the bad day yesterday and the irritation from today’s shave.

The shaves are improving, but today the lather was too wet. I should have dumped the lather and restarted. The razor dragged some, but I came out of it DFS+. Injectors really do perform differently than DEs.

All good.

It is turning out to be a long week. Sorry I haven't had much time to comment on everyone's journals lately.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Reading Doug journal... another Latha shave. It has to be getting close right? I mean come on! If you are adamant about continuing the journey I have a puck lying around somewhere I can send ya.

Hang in there Doug! You’re almost out of it!

Bad lathers provide an indecisive moment for me. I never know when to toss them or when to try and fix them. Usually I make the wrong choice, ignoring either option, and I just use it anyway, lol.
