There were two models of the Barbasol razor. On the "floating head" version the base plate is raised a bit over the safety bar so that the blade and cap appear to be floating above the bar. This creates the large gap that you see between blade and bar in the pic above and what makes the razor so aggressive. The gap is much smaller on the other model of Barbasol razor, which I do not own.Good shave Doug!

Yes, this one seems like it could bite hard if not treated properly.Be careful you don't slice your cheek off with that razor!

The gap is big and the razor is heavy. It is a two piece, all brass, long handle razor.That certainly does look like an aggressive razor!
The irritation didn't last long at all, so it was a really good shave. I hope that you do find one. Beware that the plating on them was never that good, so if you do find one it will probably be in rough shape.Oooohhhh...I have another razor to look out for now!
