Doug's Journal of Shaving Happiness v2.0

Getting caught Doug! Looks like a couple of good shaves. Aside from some minor irritation.

You mentioned heat already hitting you in Colorado. We too have seemed to skip Spring. With temps already in the high 90s, and one day last week actually hit 100 for a stretch. WAY too early for this type of heat.

Yup. Sounds similar to the weather we have been getting.

Another two-passer today with a great Latha lather. The Weishi tends to want to skip
since it is so light. I used just enough pressure to keep it in constant contact with my skin. It was two passes to almost BBS with the Indian Wilkie. Not too much alum feedback either.

Gear
The Weishi TTO is actually a decent razor. I think it gets a bad rap because it requires more care and thought than a heavier razor.

Coffee... Need coffee...

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Man...that B&M should be about dead now...or close to it!
I keep hoping! It makes me a little sad to think of all the other soaps that are being ignored.

Lol. It is going to be a while. I have made a real dent in the puck, but it still has a month or two of shaves to go, even loading it like I hate it with my 1305 boar.

Yeah, there are somewhere around 20 other pucks in my den waiting their turn. There is something great in knowing what your shave is going to smell like each morning.

I will weigh the puck sometime this week for a progress update. But, I probably am still using around 2 grams per shave, so I probably still have over 120 grams left. It can be deceiving since the puck has certainly taken on some water as I have used it.

Nice shave today Doug...at least two days with minimal irritation sets the day up to be much better!!

Wow I haven't thought of Weishi since the beginning days of wet shaving. Glad it is still part of your rotation! My first DE was a Lord. I should revisit it just for nostalgic value.

I got these samples in the mail yesterday. Thanks, Don!! There is enough product for four shaves, about. Wonderful.

This morning I scooped out a good sized chunk of soap and smeared in in the bottom of my copper shave mug. My Sorrentino brush produced a very dense lather that was a real pleasure to shave with. Two passes for almost BBS. This is really good stuff. My wife thinks it smells like almonds, but I get the leather, a bit of cedar, and earth out of it. This is a great scent. The AS splash left my face feeling good. I think these products are winners. I need to work my stash down a bit, but I will probably be buying some of these.

I can't wait to use it again tomorrow.

Gear
The Baili razor is very similar to a Tech shave-wise, but doesn't look like one. It is a good razor that is easy to use.

Noble Otter is definitely going on the buy list.

Other Thoughts
I wish that I had more people to help me with the lab at work. There are several people here helping, but I could use a couple more hands to get things up more quickly.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

The Baili Tech Clone is no slouch! It has to be the most mild shaver I’ve ever tried. BBS was a little tough for me with it, took quite a bit of cleanup, but a good shaver.

Doug that's the floral note I got! The marzipan almond!!! Thank your wife for me it has been bugging me all day!

I remembered to soak my brush this morning. Yay!

The 1305 made a less dense, but slick lather this morning. The shave was still really good, just with less cushion. Two passes to near BBS. Slightly more irritation than yesterday.

Gear
Love my gear. Going to buy the Noble Otter.

Apologies, I must have missed it back there somewhere. What type of lab work are you in the middle of? I seem to think it was getting up a new lab of some sort?

I work for a company that makes Pneumatic Tube Systems. We just moved to a new location and are setting up a new test lab. I do QA for the tube hardware and software.

Sorry it took me so long to getting around to your journal. But I am glad you liked the Noble Otter Soap and aftershave. I really do think it is a really great soap and whatever they do to make the aftershave is fantastic. I am very interested to see how the other scents work!

Oooooh, I always think it's amusing in all this technology, hospitals are still using those in new buildings to move stuff around. But around the holidays it's fun to load in bags of candy and sent them to random stations.

Tubes are still the best way to move small payloads quickly. I think they are cool.
I like the candy idea.
