Proraso red. A Merkur razor. A first shave with an Indian Wilkie. Two passes for DFS+/BBS-. Very little feedback from the alum block. It was a good shave when I was expecting the blade to be problematic.

Gear
Merkur razors are some of the best shavers in my collection.

The Indian Wilkie was good. I was expecting a sub-par blade after reading several online reviews. But it was a really great shave.

Other Thoughts
Today was not as hard of a day at work. I am going to be glad when the lab is fully online. However, I was told today that it will be the end of July before that happens.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Getting caught up, Doug. I've been wondering about a Krona razor as well. I'll just have to pull the trigger one day.

Very nice shave Doug. Merkur basically sets the standard for modern DE's.

Nice one Doug. Proraso Red is some good stuff...and good to know on the Indian Wilkie. I'd be interested in seeing how consistent the quality is from blade to blade.

Back to the Latha today for a really great two pass shave. The Indian Wilkie was still good on day two. I have been DFS+ all day and am very satisfied with it.

Its all good in the den.

Ding Dong, the week is dead!

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Good shave!

How much further to go on the Latha? Is this a 3017 out of liking the soap or wanting to get it out?

Both. It is a great product and I want to use it up.

I like using the same soap every day until it is gone. There is real satisfaction in emptying a tub.

I'm on board with that shave...everything except the Clubman that is...

Overview
Straight Saturday and my second go-round with the Admiration.

Shave Quality
Today's shave with the Admiration was better than the first shave. However, the shave wasn't as good as I was hoping for on my neck. I went for three passes with the straight and a fourth pass with the Ever-Ready to clean up. The shave was bloodless until the last pass. I was going south to north with the Ever-Ready on my mustache area and the blade bit in on my lip. It wasn't a big nick, but it did take a bit of alum to stop it. I ended up BBS- on my cheeks but only CCS on my neck. Next shave with the razor will be better.

Gear
Nothing new to report.

Other Thoughts
Friday was a bad day for me. First was the death of Anthony Bourdain. My wife and I both love his work. We will both really miss him. Second was the announcement that one of my favorite card games (Android: Netrunner) is being canceled. It was two pieces of sucktastic news. It was a bad end to a rough week.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Sorry you had a bummer of a Friday Doug!

I won’t say Bourdain was my favorite celeb chef but he certainly had a good show. He filled a unique little niche and seemed quite personable. The kind of guy that could keep conversation flowing for hours or just enjoy a meaningful moment.

I hope tomorrow is a much better day.

I do not know that card game. But I did hear about Bourdain. It is hard for me to comprehend how bad it must be for a person to take their own life, but it is happening too much lately. I feel really bad for his family.
