Overview
A little dry today

SOTD Pics
None

Shave Quality
The shave was a tiny bit on the rough side today. It was mostly smooth, but there is a hint of irritation lingering. The blade is still working well, as is the vintage Willy. Although, the soap left my skin feeling a little dry today.

Gear
The Williams is decent. At ~$10 a puck on eBay it is not horribly expensive. However, the modern soaps with the superfatting and the extra emollients are just easier on the skin. Remember to water your Williams folks. You will get better lather.

The TSC brush from SV is good. I like the handle and the knot gets very soft when hydrated. It is a great performing badger, but I still don't see it as much of an improvement over my synthetic brushes. Yes, it is a bit more luxurious on my face, but it doesn't produce better lather than my other brushes. I will say that it is a work of art. I love the olive wood handle.

LNHC makes some really good aftershave balms.

Other Thoughts
D&D went well last night. I think everyone is starting to get the hang of using Roll20 and starting to understand the 5e rules.

The Fifth Edition of D&D really is the best version of the game ever produced. This came as a bit of a surprise when it released in 2014 because the previous edition (i.e. 4th) was kind of a dumpster fire of a game. I did not like it, and think it is the worst version of the game ever produced. 5e is so good that, from what I have heard, it has outsold every other version of D&D combined. Also, this edition has brought more new players into the world of RPGs than any other version of the game. I hope that Wizards of the Coast can keep this game vibrant and alive for the next decade, and beyond. The D20/OGL (Open Game Licence) 3.x rules set (D&D 3.0 & 3.5 along with Pathfinder 1e from Paizo Publishing) had an almost 20 year run in the RPG market. 5e is an improvement over that version of the game. I hope that 5e has a long life ahead of it. I love this game.

Shave Quality
Today's shave was a little rough. The rest were good. The lather may have been a bit too thin. I am sure tomorrow will be better.

Gear
I usually get good results from CBL Premium. Today was an anomaly.

The VIG Shaving brush is not bad. It is really soft on my face.

I love the Pour Lui from OdlR. It is a wonderful classic. The Havana Lounge is just okay.

Other Thoughts
Staying caught up on my reading is proving difficult for me. I need to spend less time on Netflix.

Shave Quality
The shaves with this razor/blade combination are good, but a little on the rough side. The soap performance takes care of the worst of it.

Gear
The Savier 2.0 is a very, very, very light razor. It is almost too light for the task.

Shave Quality
The shaves with the Parker 69CR have been a little rough. I need to work on angle with this razor. The results have been good overall, just with a little razor burn.

Gear
I need work with the Parker.

The Tiger carbon blade was rough for the first shave and I didn't dip it in alcohol after the shave so it wasn't usable a second time. The Lord Platinum is good, but still rough in the Parker.

Other Thoughts

The Heritage Hill gave me great lather today. The shave was smooth and low irritation.

Gear
The Parker 69CR is a little rough, but it gives great results with some TLC.

The scent of the Heritage Hill Washington is still wonderful. I bloomed it today and that gave really great results. Hopefully it won't take another two months to finish the tub. (This started as a full 6oz. tub of soap.)

Between work and getting the house ready for new floors I am starting to stress out.

Shave Quality
The shaves have been great, but I have lost track of what gear I used when. I do remember that I am 38 shaves into the Heritage Hill Washington; and I'm still loving it. The synthetics give me better lathers than the badgers. I think my current favorite is the rainbow handled 26mm Yaqi with the soft, brown synthetic knot. It feels great on my face and gives me the lather that I like.

Gear
Yaqi 26mm synthetic FTW!

Kirin NYC makes great perfumes.

Other Thoughts
I am trying to watch less streaming and do more gaming and reading. I also need to get some writing done.

I am absolutely in love with Marvel Champions: the Card Game from Fantasy Flight Games (link: Marvel Champions: The Card Game). I also love Arkham Horror: The Card Game also from Fantasy Flight Games (link: Arkham Horror: The Card Game). They are both cooperative games that are excellent to play solo, especially MC, and can support up to 4 players. They are expandable with lots of existing content and more on the roadmap. They are a little on the spendy side, but I think they are worth the investment. These are my two favorite card games right now.

On the RPG side, I am falling more and more back into love with D&D 5e. It is a fabulous game with a metric butt load of content available.

Looking forward to getting back to our game tomorrow night!

Doug we love to play cooperative games too! I think we have had a few conversations about it. I would recommend these for sure are our favorites:

https://smile.amazon.com/USAOPOLY-H...eywords=hogwarts+battle&qid=1616592896&sr=8-1 (the expansion packs are awesome and technically with the expansions you have like 10+ games in one, so you can determine the level of difficulty you want to play. We still haven't even gotten to the hardest level yet the game is a true challenge, and no Harry Potter knowledge needed)

https://smile.amazon.com/Potter-Hog...eywords=hogwarts+battle&qid=1616592896&sr=8-3 (this one is actually player vs. player but it follows similar principles as the one above and is a lot shorter of a game, we play it camping after the kids are asleep)

Megan and I really need to bring out our game nights again.

I have also been reading more and need to get some writing done, I am behind on like 5 articles I need to write, and updating my journal weekly has fallen to the wayside.

Oh and the D&D I am thoroughly enjoying myself it really is a highlight of our week. Thank you for having the patience to teach a bunch of noobs.

It is a nice feeling when you imagination starts kicking in. I am looking into products (like solo pen & paper RPGs) to help me start building stories.

I am having fun. Part of being a GM/DM is teaching new players. I actually have a ton of experience with first-time players of various RPGs. When I run games at gaming conventions I often get players that are either brand new to the game I am running, have only played it a few times, or are completely new to roleplaying games. I have run games for worse groups than the TSC group.
