Doug's Journal of Shaving Happiness v2.0

Omg, I am so sorry. A beautiful kitty, and surely a wonderful friend.

My condolences. [emoji3525]

Great Tech shaves

SOTD Pics
None

Shave Quality
The shaves were good. Today's left me with a bit of razor burn.

Gear
I like Techs.

Zino by Davidoff is a great patchouli based fragrance.

Other Thoughts
He went peacefully and without stress. That was a blessing. But, I am heartbroken that he is gone. I really miss him. 17 years wasn't long enough. I can still occasionally hear his voice in other parts of the house.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Good shaves

SOTD Pics

Shave Quality
Sunday's shave was really close and left me with some razor burn. The lather was just okay. Today's shave was really good, not as close but much more comfortable.

Gear
I like synthetic brushes most of all.

Bentley fragrances are good stuff.

Other Thoughts
It seems like the more I try to be healthier the more my body fights me.

The lather was too thin, but the shave ended up really great

SOTD Pics
None

Shave Quality
I tried scooping some of the soap out and loading it in the bowl today. The lather was much thinner than I have been used to. I still got a great shave, but it wasn't as comfortable as it could have been even though it was almost BBS.

Gear
The Prismatic is a bit aggressive.

More great stuff from Bentley.

Other Thoughts
I won a giveaway a week or so ago. The bottle arrived today. This really improved my week.

Too dry today

SOTD Pics
None

Shave Quality
I love this Heritage Hill soap. When I get the water ratio correct it has all the right shave properties. Today it was too dry. The shave was still good, but it would have been a fair bit better with more water. Almost BBS with a small amount of irritation, but that irritation is only noticeable when I touch my face.

Gear
The Marvel is an okay razor. It has a good blade angle. It has a good weight. But it is nothing special.

Loving this aquatic fragrance from Bentley. Tea and violet leaf is a wonderful combination.

Other Thoughts
Today and tomorrow then I am on PTO for the rest of 2020. That will be nice.

Overview
Decent

SOTD Pics

Shave Quality
The lather from Oz Shaving's base was really good, but a little dry during the first pass. The second pass was much better after adding more. The shave was very smooth, but a little irritating. The razor on 1 and 2 was just too mild. Using 3 for the second pass made the difference.

Gear
I am disappointed with the Model T. The blade gap is uneven on it. One side has a bit more blade feel than the other. I should be able to get better results if I keep this in mind.

The Oz Shaving Winter is a great soap with a fabulous fragrance.

I am 30 shaves into the Heritage Hill Washington, but am sidelining it in favor of Christmas soaps. I think there are another ~60 shaves on that 6oz. tub, based on usage so far. I have 14 shaves on my SV Felce Aromatica. I need to get back to that one in the new year. I am looking forward to the January 3017. Hopefully I can kill these and a bunch more in 2021.

Loving this aquatic fragrance from Bentley. Tea and violet leaf is a wonderful combination.

Other Thoughts
Fretting about health stuff today. I know what I need to do, but this is one of those days when my brain just will not stop. The whole avocado that I had for breakfast was good, however.

The shave was amazingly good today. Smooth and BBS. The Oz Shaving soap gave me a truly fabulous lather.

Gear
Merkur razors always deliver.

Still loving the Oz Shaving Winter.

Ted Lapidus Pour Homme is classic and awesome. The BHPC Blaze is cheap but really enjoyable.

Other Thoughts
Going into stores is stressful enough without having to deal with jackholes who feel entitled to remove their masks while shopping. Oh, and they don't keep their social distance while their noses and mouths are exposed. We are in the middle of a pandemic. Keep your GD face covered and keep your distance while you are in the store. Stay home if you don't want to follow the rules.

A close but kinda rough shave

SOTD Pics

Shave Quality
The lather from the Stirling was good. It wasn't quite as protective as the Heritage Hill or the Oz Shaving. The shave left me a little roughed up, but it was decent overall. I need to work on the lather a bit.

Gear
Stirling is good. It isn't the best, but it works. Hopefully I can get better results from it in the future.

I love Burberry London.

Other Thoughts
Watching an interesting detective show on Netflix The Republic of Doyle.

The shave was a tiny bit rough, but BBS all the way. Overall it was a killer shave.

Gear
The Slim Adjustable is a great razor. Gillette did very well when they designed it.

I love the fragrances produced by Burberry. I own 4 different ones now and they are all good. Burberry London is one of my favorites.

Other Thoughts
Hopped on the scale today. It said 210.1. I am amazed.

The whole avocado that I had for breakfast was good, however.

I love raw avocados.
Avocados are a fruit I struggle with. I know they ae good for me...and I really want to eat them...but man do they make my stomach queasy. I can do guacamole, and some other preparations like in a salad dressing. But I struggle with those little green footballs.

Great shave this morning Doug...or last night, which ever it was. I bet you went to bed smelling like a Christmas Tree!
