Another great shave with the Heritage Hill, almost BBS. It was a really great shave.

Gear
All good on the shaving front. My gear is working well for me.

I am really enjoying the Lacoste Pour Homme. It is a very nice fragrance.

Other Thoughts
Rewatching Seven Psychopaths. It is very good.

Overview
A couple good ones

SOTD Pics
None

Shave Quality
The shaves were both really good. I was actually surprised at today's shave with a never before used by me blade. Great shaves with no residual irritation. Happiness.

Gear
The SuperMax Diamond Edge worked really well in the King Gillette DE. I was expecting less from the blade.

Both frags are good. I am quite enjoying today's.

Other Thoughts
Some good and some bad...
First the bad. My 17 year old cat is having problems. He is experiencing kidney failure, which is a slow but progressive problem. He also has arthritis. His arthritis has been so bad this weekend that he didn't want to move even to eat or drink. I guess we are going to have to put him on painkillers or something. He is in mostly good health otherwise. His kidneys are still working, so it could be years before they completely fail, but the arthritis is starting to get debilitating. It was a sad weekend because of that.

The good is the CBL Soap order that came in today. I bought 4 of the "grab bag" random soaps. So much fun! It was a nice little pick-me-up after dealing with my cat all weekend.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

More good shaves

SOTD Pics

Shave Quality
The second shave with the Diamond Edge in the Gillette DE was as good as the first. Today's shave with the Variant was a little bit rougher, but still good at the end. The alum gave a small amount of feedback, but with all said and done, I am just shy of full BBS with no irritation to speak of. I am very pleased with the performance I am getting out of my lathers. I am glad that I decided to not skip my shave today.

Gear
The SuperMax Diamond Edge is a good blade on my face so far. I wouldn't hesitate at this point (after 3 shaves) to buy a 100 pack.

I am loving the Heritage Hill soap base so far. It is giving me really excellent results. It might even be Elite Tier on the Vargo/TSC Soap Scale.

Again with the great frags. Code Profumo is worthy of all the hype it gets from reviewers. It is a great tonka bean based fragrance. I am really liking the Man in Black today also.

Other Thoughts
The cat is doing a little better on the gabapentin. However, he is really drugged up. But, at least he is actually moving around, eating, and drinking a little bit on his own. He is far from living his best life. I am really, really, really hoping that the Glucosamine and Chondroitin powder and the Omega-3 oil will help his joints enough for him to not need the drugs.

A decent Thursday

SOTD Pics

Shave Quality
I scratched my ear a bit with the blade tab, but other than that it was an excellent shave, somewhere in the DFS range.

Gear
Shaving gear is all good. I like this setup.

The Rihanah Oud kinda smells like college, but I think it is good. I like patchouli.

Other Thoughts
The cat seems to be doing a bit better. We need to adjust the amount of gabapentin that we give him, but at least he is moving around now. It isn't perfect, but it is good enough for now.

Overview
Very fougere

SOTD Pics

Shave Quality
The Ming Shi 3000s is too mild at setting 1. It only got me to DFS today. However, it was an almost zero irritation shave. There was one small area under my left ear that got a bit rough. Other than that it was great.

Gear
Yokozuna gave me a more airy and thinner lather than I have been getting lately. However the slickness was there and the shave was great.

The Ming Shi 3000s is a rather mild razor.

I love British Sterling.

Other Thoughts
We started watching The Golden Girls on Hulu. It is a very nice show.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

We have Willie on a similar med combo for his back. It really helped once he was on a steady regimen for a while. He gets the gabapentin when he has flare ups, but we try to stay away from that because he’s pretty much high all day when he takes it 😂😂😂

He seems to be doing better on a smaller dose of the gabapentin. I am really hoping that the Glucosamine and Chondroitin powder and the Omega-3 oil work like they are supposed to.

Shave Quality
So, out of the shower I applied some moisturizing cream all over. It is getting cold and my skin is getting dry, so I am giving it a try. I also put some on my face. I did the rest of my morning routine to let my skin absorb the moisturizer, then I shaved. It was a really great shave. I took some time to really build the lather, but I think the moisturizer helped. I may keep doing that. I got a very nice, irritation free BBS.

Gear
I love the Gillette Tech.

Tous 1920 The Origin is interesting. I need to spend more time with it.

Other Thoughts
Most of the Denver metro area is basically shutdown again. It is not quite a full shutdown, but the restaurants are limited to outside seating and takeout. It is going to be a long winter.

New plates on the Karve

SOTD Pics

Shave Quality
The shaves were very good, and very mild. Although, today I scraped myself a bit in the mustache area. There was little irritation afterwards. The lather was a bit too thin for both shaves. I just put too much water in. Both were close enough to BBS for me.

Gear
The "AA" plate is very mild, but a good shaver like all the Karve plates that I have experienced so far. The "A" plate was not too much more aggressive. This is still a fabulous razor. I am glad that I now have the complete set of SB base plates. Now to acquire the OC plates.

Armani Code Absolu is a very tonka bean heavy fragrance, but it has some refinement to it also. It is a fabulous perfume.

Other Thoughts
It was a rather boring weekend around the house. We are back to the situation where going out to the store is the highlight of my day. At least I have plenty of wonderful fragrances to keep my nose interested. Oh, and I put up Christmas lights over our front porch on Saturday.

Shave Quality
A good shave today. Although there is a small patch that is still irritated from yesterday. It was close to BBS, but I think I need to take a day off to let my face recover.

Gear
The "A" plate is nice and mild. I still need to be more careful of the angle.

I really like the Bvlgari Man Wood Essence. It isn't very loud or youthful. I would call it gentlemanly and reserved. It is something that I think many of the other Cadre members would enjoy.

Other Thoughts
I spent the evening chatting with my friend that almost died from Covid-19. I was reminded once again that this is a horrendous disease that is capable of trashing various parts of the body. My friend has some lung damage that may, or may not, be permanent. He has a long road to recovery. This disease is devastating.

Sorry to hear about you friend...wonderful that he survived, terrible the effects he’ll have to live with the rest of his life 😕

I am still hopeful that he won't have permanent scarring, but we'll see. But, who knows what else he will have to deal with. He is just taking it slowly.

Took Wednesday off. But, Thursday and Friday were great shaves. The lather was good on Thursday, but Friday's lather was superior.

Gear
The "B" plate is really good. It gave me great results with the GSB.

Some great fragrances also.

Other Thoughts
Thanksgiving was okay. It kinda sucked that we couldn't see family.

The lather was great. The blade was new. The shave was DFS+ with a minor amount of irritation. Too bad I nicked my adam's apple. That always sucks.

Gear
It is an inexpensive shavette from China, but it gave pretty good results.

I will always have a bottle of Burberry around.
