Sorry I have gotten so far behind here Doug. But it sounds like you have shaken off the sub-par shave gremlins.

Pre: Hot shower/splash of cool water/Shave Secret oil
Razor: Schick Krona
Blade: Gillette Platinum (1)
Brush: Semogue 1305
Soap/Cream: Barrister & Mann Latha Oceana (12)
AS 1: Thayer's Rose Witch Hazel
AS 2: Nivea Sensitive Post-shave Balm
AS 3: AV Ice Sport
Fragrance: none

Overview
No shave on Sunday. I was too busy with house cleaning. So, I won't get to 365 shaves in 2018. I will have to settle for 364.

Shave Quality
The Krona with the Gillette Platinum was a good combination. Two passes for a solid BBS. It didn't last quite all day, but it lasted for several hours.

Gear
The Krona is a great TTO that is mild like a Super Speed, but a bit more efficient. The long handle is also nice.

The Gillette Platinum blades are really great. Smooth, sharp, and efficient. I would love to buy more, but they tend to be expensive.

Other Thoughts
This could be a long week.

Catching up. Kudos to all you guys that can use the GEM razors. I gave that two chances and I'm off that wagon for good.
 
Only 364? Slacker!

Seriously though, give us some more thoughts on the Krona. It's a razor I have thought about purchasing on more than one occasion.

I bet I can change your mind about them. I have several different models and they do shave differently. Some of them are quite mild.

True. But it was more a goal to shave every day this year, than a specific number. It just means I will have to try again in 2019.

Um... Get one? They are really great shavers. If you want to try before you buy, PM me your address and I will loan you one to evaluate.

Overview
Another great shave with the Gillette Platinum.

Shave Quality
Two passes for BBS- that is still BBS- 9 hours later. Great lather. Great razor performance. Very little irritation. It was a good shave day.

Gear
The Lady GIllette is like a Super Speed just with a longer handle. It does change the dynamics of the razor IMO in a positive direction. The longer handle helps improve shaving angle.
EDIT: The Krona is similar in some ways. I.e. kind of like a Super Speed with a longer handle. I think the Krona also has a flatter head than a SS which makes a shallow angle easier to achieve.

You owe it to yourself to try Gillette Platinum blades.

Other Thoughts
Ever have one of those days where it feels like everything you touch turns to caca? That was my day. I am glad it is over. Going to go float in the community pool tonight to relax.

Good shave, but sorry to hear about the less than stellar day though. Tomorrow is another day! (and another shave!)
 
Bummer about the day, but it is cool to have one of those shave you reach up and thing "right on" every time you touch your face.

Soap/Cream: Barrister & Mann Latha Oceana (14)
AS 1: Thayer's Lavender Witch Hazel
AS 2: Nivea Sensitive Post-shave Balm
AS 3: AV Ice Sport
Fragrance: none

Overview
A third great shave with the Gillette Platinum.

Shave Quality
Two passes for BBS- that is still BBS- 9 hours later. Great lather. The razor cut so close it felt like I might have removed a microscopic layer of skin. That feeling didn't last long. There was also one weeper on the first pass. Just a really close shave.

Gear
The Bakelite Slant is a bit of a wicked razor. It really wants to cut close.

The Gillette Platinum keeps delivering.

The Thayer's Lavender Witch Hazel is nice, but I think I like the rose better.

Other Thoughts
Last night before bed I weighed the Latha again.130 grams for 1.7 grams per shave. I think the puck may be taking on water weight.
