Overview
Today's shave was a late afternoon shave and was my first with the Admiration. It was my first time using a square toe razor and my first time using a Solingen razor.

Shave Quality
The Latha is still a great soap with great performance. I went for three passes with the straight and one cleanup with the Tech. The Admiration is amazingly light. I had little problem finding a good angle with it. The overall shave was a bit rough, but I expect the blade to improve with another shave or two. I would call it CCS after four passes. There was a fair bit of stubble left behind and some lasting irritation.
Thanks for honing this, Dave.
Gear
The Admiration is lighter than the other straights that I have used. I have no doubt that I can get a great shave from it. I just need to figure out the best angle with it.
Other Thoughts
One of my local antique shops was having a 20% off sale today. I found out about it when I was there on Saturday. So, I went back to pick up a lovely round toed Dovo that I found on Saturday. But that is not what I came home with. Instead I brought home a razor that I have been wanting in my collection for about a year and a half. Here is a pic.
Obviously that is not the original case for this razor. But, it is a very nice NEW SC.
Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.
