Shave Quality
Today's shave was slightly more irritating since the razor felt like it was sticking to my face like it was a magnet. It wasn't skipping but it was shaving really close. I have a tiny bit more irritation than yesterday, but I think my face is a little smoother. Once again I am BBS- and feeling pretty good. I think the irritation will disappear quickly. Also, I used more fragrance bearing things on my skin today than I usually do, so that could be a factor.

Gear
The Chinese Schick Injector blade is good stuff. It gave me a close, smooth shave. As long as my face calms down I think I am in good shape. I think the Proline gave a slightly better shave overall for shave #1 in this comparison.

The Standings:
  1. Schick Proline
  2. Chinese Schick
  3. Personna Injector
The Sudsy Soapery soap is disappearing fast. Part of the situation is the fact that every brush load is pulling chunks of soap off of the puck, rather than just lifting proto-lather up. I am getting superb lathers in my shave mug, but I am also loading a ton of soap due to all the chunking. This is not a complaint. It just means that this soap is 3017ing faster than any soap I have ever used.

Ah, Cool Water. Who doesn't love this scent? It is one of the best aquatics ever made. It is a wonderful light and refreshing scent. I have seen several reviews on YouTube which state that everyone should have it in their fragrance collection. I totally agree. I know that Cool Water is a copy of Creed Green Irish Tweed, and someday I will get a decant of GIT to compare, but I think I could probably remain content and happy with just Cool Water.

Other Thoughts
I really dislike that work is always pushing me to do things faster. Ugh. So impatient.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

I've been wearing Cool Water for decades. It's really at the top of my list. I just ordered a bottle of Cool Water Caribbean Summer, and I'm excited to see how it works out.

Wait, what? Just blew my mind...for some reason I’d assumed that Cool Water was a Silver Mountain Water profile...

Shows where assuming gets you...

Sounds great regardless!

Here is a YouTube video that goes into some detail about famous copies of fragrances. Note, some of the information presented is speculation. I think it is a fascinating video.

Shave #2 with the Personna was much better than shave #1. Two passes for BBS. My face is a little tender, but it is recovering quickly. The lather was real thick and ultra slick. Overall it was a more than decent shave.

Gear
The Personna Injector was much better on shave #2. There are some blades that are just harsh for the first shave but that then get good. This is one of them for me.

The Sudsy Soapery has about one more day before it is dead. It has been a really, really good performer, and I think I could buy Sudsy again, but there is so much good stuff out there that this brand may never make another appearance in my den. We will see. However, I do have a ton of CBL, a bunch of Grooming Dept., several Declaration Grooming, a couple Noble Otter, and several A&E. I am not sure SS can compete. Let's not forget the pucks of Fine Accoutrements and Tabac also.

The Second Anniversary brush is a bit rough on my face, but it could be shaping up into a soap killer. It certainly is mowing down the Sudsy Soapery.

Other Thoughts
I am really having fun diving into the world of fragrances. They get really damned expensive really fast, but there are some wonderful scents out there to be had. Fragrance Acquisition Disorder anyone?

Soap variety is fun, but your scent is what stays with you through the day.

Cool Water is a copy of Creed Green Irish Tweed
I never knew that. I had Cool Water back in the late '80s and loved it, though I remember it as being a lighter than GIT scent. I need to smell it again, I suppose (this is not me fishing for a sample - I rarely wear frags as Sheri is ultra-sensitive to them).

Davidoff has reformulated Cool Water several times since the 80's so it isn't quite the same scent. But, it is similar to my bottle of Armaf Tres Nuit EdT (GIT clone).

Shave Quality
Shave #2 with Proline was really good. I was BBS this morning and I am still DFS+ in the afternoon. There was next to no residual irritation afterwards. It was a solidly good shave.

Gear
Like the Personna the Proline was better on the second shave. It did not improve as much as the Personna did, but it did improve. Also, it didn't need as much improvement.

The Sudsy Soapery Sandalwood & Myrrh is no more. What should I dive into tomorrow?

Other Thoughts
The week is almost over.

Injector shave off #6 ... and a new soap

SOTD Pic
None

Shave Quality
Shave #2 with the Chinese Schick blade was really great. I am not sure how much the change in soap had to do with it, but I think it was more the blade than the soap. I am BBS with next to no residual irritation. The shave was top notch.

Gear
After Shave number 2 on each of the blades, I think I have to put the Chinese Schick on top. Shave #2 with that blade was a hair smoother than with the Proline.

The Standings for Round 2:
  1. Chinese Schick
  2. Schick Proline
  3. Personna Injector

The first shave with the RazoRock Acqua was good and I really like the scent. I think the water was a little on the light side, however. The residual slickness wasn't what it should be for a tallow soap. It was more sticky than slippery. I will go a little heavier on the water tomorrow and hopefully get better results. ... Not that I got bad results today. On the contrary. It was a really great shave. I would definitely put this soap in the Tier 1 category, but it might not get to Elite Tier status. The soapy/clean/aquatic scent of the Acqua is very pleasant and, I think, a great scent for hot weather.

Other Thoughts
Happy Friday, people!
