Doug's Journal of Shaving Happiness v2.0

Catching up, good reads and that & is ultra sharp and may be a bit harsh for a few shaves, but will settle in well Keep me posted, I want you to be happy with the Edges

Went 4 passes today for BBS-. There is a tiny bit of irritation and a few stray whiskers. The Treet blade was not as efficient today as it was yesterday. The lather was great, which is why I went for four. It is too bad that the Latha line was discontinued.

Gear
This blade needs a stropping.

Other Thoughts
Going to see Deadpool 2 tonight. I can't wait.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

nice shave Doug! I'm looking forward to seeing DP2 as well...loved the first one, and I've heard the second is just as good if not better!

Have heard good reviews on DP2. Hoping to grab the wife and sneak out for a showing this weekend.

Stropping does help.

I stropped the Treet on denim last night before bed. 20 strokes in the razor on each edge of the blade. Flipped the blade and did 20 more on each edge. This morning's shave was better than yesterday's. BBS- in three passes with just a tiny bit of irritation that probably won't last the morning. The lather was good. It was a really feel good shave.

The blade is good. I am going to strop it again tonight.

The Latha soap is great stuff.

Other Thoughts
I liked DP2, although I must have left before the very final post-credits scene. I will have to see it again.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Nice shave Doug...that's a good strategy regarding the movie. Leave before all the post-credit scenes are shown to give a reason to go back and watch it all over again!

My experience with the Treet carbon blades was not as good as yours. I might have to some out and try them again.

Stropped the blade again before bed. Today was four passes worth of sandalwood-y BBS- goodness. The blade was noticeably less sharp, but still performed well.

I forgot to take pictures of my mail call last night from WCS. I got a Proraso red tub, 400ml bottle of Proraso red splash, an atomizer for the splash, an Omega 10049 boar, and a leather DE travel case (free promo). I decided to use the splash today with my open tube of the Red cream. The tub will be opened when the tube is gone. Three words. I. Love. It. The Proraso red is a fabulous sandalwood. I am so glad that I got the big barber bottle of the splash. It is going to get lots of use.

Other Thoughts
I took pics of my collection of DE hones. I will be posting them some evening soon, when I am actually home and can write a little bit about them.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

I've wondered if the Proraso Red aftershave smelled just like the soap - thanks for answering that one - sounds like a winner.

Good shave Doug!

For me the AS picks up right where the soap leaves off. The soap starts out earthy, sharp wood, then as the shave progresses, you can detect an underlying freshness to the scent, the AS captures that freshness and throws in a dash of light sandalwood. It’s a perfect pairing!
