Shave Quality
I wanted to continue on with the Treet, but while putting together a blade sampler I realized that I had bought 200 Rapira Super Stainless but had not tried one yet. (Yes, I sometimes bulk buy blades blind. But, to be fair I knew ahead of time that SS blades like my face.) So, I binned the Treet and loaded a Rapira. Two passes was all it took to get me solidly BBS. Just a really spectacular shave this morning.

Gear
Gotta love Russian blades. Rapira makes several different blades, and while not all of them work well for me quite a few of them do. Not to mention Astra SP and Voskhod. Shave #1 with this Rapira SS makes me glad I took a chance on 200.

More Proraso red FTW!

Other Thoughts
Had to take the older cat into the vet this morning for a dental cleaning and comprehensive check-up. He is normally a gentle, loving kitty. However, he turns into a mass of teeth and claws at the vet. I want him to be healthy and happy, but I really hate taking him there. We have tried different vets, but he just hates going. I think it is because he is 15 years old and has become territorial in his old age.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Great shave Doug!

We had a male cat that was that way kinda. Just certain things you didn't do to him, like touch his feet. SWMBO tried several vets and groomers, she finally just told them to go ahead and sedate him, unless you like bleeding.

Not much to complain about if one is getting a 2 pass BBS with a Tech! Good stuff!

Nice couple of shaves, Doug, and I too enjoyed the Sandalwood Proraso. Haven't tried the AS yet, but if its anything close to the soap then it is a winner for sure!

Thanks for the Proraso Red aftershave thoughts. Sounds like I might have to get some.

Overview
Today's shave with the CVH #7 was better than the first.

Shave Quality
The lather was great, but I was in a bit of a hurry so only took two passes today. My cheeks were really good, but my neck was a bit rough so I cleaned up my neck with the Tech. I ended up DFS all around.

Thanks again for honing this, Dave.

Gear
Today's go around with the CVH was better than my first time with it. Every razor is a bit different and this one takes a bit of getting used to. This one is a bit of a slippery devil. The steel is really smooth, so even with jimps it kept trying to get away from me. At one point it rolled so the blade was perpendicular to my cheek. I didn't get cut, thankfully. It was a great shave. Some alum on my fingers might be called for when using this razor.

Other Thoughts
It was a good Saturday. I went to the antique store and found a couple of good things although I didn't buy any of them. They are having a discount on Monday, so I might go back and pick up a few things.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Nice shave Doug...it's scary when the blade flips on you like that. Glad you were able to avoid calamity!

It seems to be almost impossible to get a bad lather from AOS creams. Also, the scents are top of the line. Tier 1 all the way. I was not careful enough in a couple of spots and scraped my neck up good. But it was a BBS- shave in three passes. The Nivea balm combined with the Osage Rub left my face feeling absolutely great.

Gear
Eucalyptus Essential Oil in AOS shave cream is a solid win. Just buy this cream. It is worth $27 MSRP.

Other Thoughts
There is just too much great smelling and performing shave software out there. I want to try it all, but don't have enough disposable income or storage space for it all.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Catching up on all the good stuff Doug, glad the #7 did not get you as it is scary sharp, Thanks for the Kudos

I got way too far behind. A lot of great shaves. Those Parker blades sound like winners. You have inspired me to use some sandalwood tomorrow.

Catching up Doug!

Nice couple of shave and reads!

Glad that you side stepped a Mr. M visit!
