Shave Quality
Today was an interesting shave. It is the first time that I have done a blade comparison and it was really fun. I had the GSB on the left side of my face and the Parker on the right side. I used a new blade for each. The shave was really good on both sides. The only difference that I detected was slightly, and I mean just a tiny bit, more irritation on the Parker side. The blades were equally smooth, sharp, and effic
ient. I really couldn't tell the difference between the two during the shave. I am equally BBS- on both sides. The lather was great. The alum feedback was not too bad. It was an all-around superb shave.

Gear
GSB vs. Parker DE. Winner... GSB by just a hair. Realistically, for my face they are equivalent blades. The difference in irritation could be due to technique problems, not blade quality.

Other Thoughts
The lab at work is finally coming together. We will have working equipment this week. Yay!

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Right now the three blades I use primarily are the Personna Red's, Voskhod's, and Astra SP's...but I have had good success recently with the GSB's as well.

Good reads Doug as I get caught up look forward to the razor reviews as well

Trolling for Custom Titles are we? Just say something I dare you, LOL Good reads Doug

Shave Quality
Today was another comparison shave, but only two passes. The left side was the Parker. Once again the blades seems to be almost evenly matched and it came down to the alum and alcohol AS to really show the difference. Both blades cut well. Both blades were smooth, but the Derby seemed to drag a bit more than the Parker. When I got to alum and AS, there was more feedback on the Derby sid
e of my face.

Gear
Derby Premium vs. Parker ... winner ... Parker. The blades were really close in performance, but the Parker was less irritating to my face.

Other Thoughts
Starting to configure and commission the equipment in the new lab today. I am getting dirty and having fun.

Good shaves and comparisons. That Parker came out on top is a surprise, I mean I don’t like Derby, but they both seemed to be like generics, still a point going to Parker.

I don't think either of these blades is cheap or crap.

Shave Quality
Another comparison shave today. But it is a shave that almost wasn't. After receiving my new copper shave mug and Semogue 1305 last night I just had to shave with them this morning. The 1305 was just sucking up the soap and wasn't producing much lather. The first pass was okay-ish, but the second pass was not happening with that brush. I assume that because it is new that there
was some chemical or other that didn't come out of the bristles during the initial soak which was killing the lather. I pulled out the Omega S-Brush to finish the shave. The Omega in the copper mug produced a really good lather. The mug is smaller than my usual shave bowl, but it worked out well. I am going to have to shampoo the heck out of the 1305 before I try to use it again.

The main event... the blades. I couldn't tell the difference between the Astra and the Parker during the shave... or with the alum... or with the AS... They could have been the same make of blade for all that I could tell during the shave. It was strange. I was expecting some sort of difference.

Gear
Astra SP versus Parker... winner... It's a tie.

Other Thoughts
It will be another day of gettin' dirty in the lab.

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.
