Shave Quality
It is a joy to shave with Tabac. I have a tiny bit of irritation but it was still a great shave. The lather was a tiny bit on the dry side. I will have to remedy that for tomorrow.

Gear
All good.

Other Thoughts
Yay Friday!

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

Shave Quality
Today's shave was off the charts. The Tabac lather was just right. The R41 had just the right amount of efficiency. It demanded the third pass.

Gear
The R41 with an Astra SP is a seriously good combination.

Tabac is definitely one of the best soaps that I have ever used. It loads quickly. It works up fast. It has a wide water band, but is easy to get too dry. The post-shave is clean and so, so nice.

Other Thoughts
I want my CBL Tonsorial pucks to arrive. I can't wait to try it out. CBL Premium is in the top 3 in my den. I predict that I will be buying lots of it.

Overview
A really great BETA shave.

Shave Quality
The lather from the CBL Tonsorial is definitely old-school. It is a simple, clean, slick, and protective lather. It took a bit more water than an artisanal soap does, but the lather was easy to produce. The shave was BBS in two passes.

Gear
Great performing soap. It needs an aftershave due to the lack of superfat, but that is not a flaw. It makes a great lather that leaves the face feeling good. This is a soap that I would happily buy a ton of.

Other Thoughts
Hoping that my new game goes well. Tomorrow is "session zero."

Thank you for reading and commenting on my journal. I hope you have a great day and stellar shaves, Cadre.

You got me interested in the CBL Tonsorial now! I think that Barbasol Pacific Rush might be the best aftershave for it!

It was the usual Tabac shave for me. Great lather, great performance, great scent. BBS in two. It got my Monday off to a good start.

Gear
The RR OLD Type is a nice clone razor. It did the job admirably.

Other Thoughts
Going to get some Korean for lunch today. Yum!

A really great old-school shave.

Shave Quality
Tabac has been around for a long time, since 1959. The NEW SC dates from the 1930s. The Treet Black Carbon blade is kind of a throwback to the Gillette Blue Blade. So today's shave felt like a bit of a time warp, but in a good way. The shave was BBS in two smooth passes. It was just a really great start to my day.

Gear
The Treet Black blades are great on my face. They aren't the sharpest blade out there, but they work well with many (most?) of my razors. Carbon steel seems to work better on my skin, leaving less irritation, than many of the other stainless blades. The Treet Black carbon and Treet Classic carbon blades will be in my den permanently.

The NEW SC is a nice shaver. I like using my NEWs, and my OLD Types for that matter, with carbon steel blades. These razors were designed with the thinner carbon blades in mind. So while they work well with newer stainless blades, it feels like a more natural pairing to use carbon blades. But, maybe I am weird. I need to take the plunge on some vintage Gillette Blue Blades for some comparison shaves. I also want to play around more with my DE blade hones to see how long I can get a carbon DE blade to last.

The 365 Everyday Face Toner is not bad. I picked it up at my local Whole Foods when I saw that they no longer carry the two-pack of the Thayer's Rose WH. It works, and has a nice pump applicator, but I will be switching back to the Thayer's when this stuff is gone. Thayer's has a better scent.

Other Thoughts
Some day soon I will get below 230. Right now I am hanging around 233. I will get there, however.

Shave Quality
Another great BBS, two pass shave.

Gear
The Treet Black did well in the PAA Bakelite Slant. Smooth, but lacking somewhat in the sharpness area. Still one of my favorite blades.

Other Thoughts
The snow has come to Colorado and I am not ready for it. Last night Denver had its second snow storm of the year. Luckily I was in DC for the first one.
