DeepSea’s Journal

Its all been said. Everything fine thing in life needs a tune up now and again from the finest watch that needs servicing before it breaks down to the finest wine that needs a 1/4 turn every week, month for the decades it takes to become legendary. Its just understood. So do we. I am so glad that you found the courage to reach out and find some peace.

Stay safe...we' really are just a message away.
Thanks Ed! I let it go so long I needed a rebuild and I plan on keeping up on the maintenance.

@DeepSea Thank you for much for sharing your story. I am so glad you are feeling healthier now. I take my Wellbutrin daily to keep clinical depression at bay. A regular sleep cycle is by far my biggest life struggle. So glad you were able to have a good experience in treatment.

I’m finally learning how to let the waves go past instead of trying to fighting against them.
When I learned this and figured out how to apply it to my life, it helped me a LOT. The thing is, many people want to put effort into everything. And you can't. You have to pick and choose where it is appropriate to place your efforts. I see it all the time at work. People don't choose their battles appropriately, and they end up putting a lot of effort into a battle that they can't win. The key is identifying when you can and can't affect the outcome. If something is in the early stages, and your efforts can affect the outcome, and you can help make the outcome better, then go for it. Let your concerns be known, and offer suggestions to make it work better. But if the decision has already been made, then fighting against it is pointless. The only thing you can do at that point, is to figure out the best way to deal with the situation.

I can’t decide between getting another bottle of Speick or a Barber bottle Proraso Green.....
Speick!

Seems I really let the cobwebs accumulate in here. I’ve been splitting my time between home and San Diego and will continue to do so until the first or second weeks of December. It’s a crap shoot on the traffic, it’s either 2.5 hours or just under 4 hours and there seems to be no rhyme or reason for when the traffic gets bad. Tonight was 3.5 hours but it seemed to go by quickly. This next week the family is coming down with me. The hotel pool is open and I’m teaching the little one how to swim. She is loving the water and doesn’t mind getting hit in the face with waves at the beach. It’s some really great bonding time. I hope she takes to skiing like she has the water. 🤞

Tonight’s shave went very well. An effortless BBS with the Vector, Simpson PJ2 and WSP Formula T Mahogany. Finished it off with some witch hazel and Stirling Hipster.

Have a good night Cadre!

  • RR Lupo DLC
  • Gillette Rubie
  • Graydog SHD
  • Ghost Town Barber Soap and Splash
I couldn't have asked for a better shave this morning. The Maggard's SHD know somehow keeps getting better and better and @Graydog really knows how to make a handle with both form and function. GTB turns out to be one of the few scents my wife likes and that is a huge win. The Lupo just delivers a smooth shave time and time again.

Have a great day Cadre!
