I have After the Rain by L&L and i only use it when i am thinking of my granddaddy. Not really fond of it to be honest but SWMBO likes it and it does remind me of him as it was his. As to the soap scent from todays shave, Tea and fruit of any kind have no business together for this NC boy.
 
Sweet tea - check
Menthol - check
Tallow - check

Winner of a soap - check
Vampire face - check

All in all a top notch shave I’d say! (You’re going to have to go get little plastic fangs for your October shaves. Sorry!)

Thanks Chad! I'm a little surprised that they didn't release it again this year. Perhaps it didn't do as well as they were hoping.

I do like L&L a lot as well. Don't know why I don't think of them more often. I have two of their soaps, but they tend to not be on my radar much.

Yeah, Declaration (previously L&L) makes a great soap. I'm on the fence with the majority of their Chatillon Lux collaborations, but there is NO fault with the soap base at all. Either one of them.

Thanks TJ! It's always nice to have a soap that is so nostalgic, even if you personally don't care for the scent too much.

I've wondered about those collaborations. Would you say the scents are a little more "out there"?

I would describe the scents, genreally speaking, as very rustic. Many are an homage to days gone by. Not really in my wheelhouse so to speak as they tend towards a lot of leather/vetiver/patchouli/liquor type notes that I'm not the biggest fan of. A lot of people love them though, so a simple case of YMMV.

I'm all about vetiver and patchouli and some leather, liquor scents usually don't register well for me though i am fond of a nice Bourbon. Maybe i should look into those collaboration soaps a bit more.
 
It's about time Josh !! Heading for another cup of Coffee to go with the video. What is it with these people that sleep at night over here ?
