I finished up a long run with my trusty flare tip by pairing it with one of my first shave brushes, the Kent BK4. It feels like a powder puff, but it gets the job done with both soaps and creams. These days, the BK4 mostly finds its way into my travel kit.

We completed some new home punch list items this week and enjoyed some beautiful fall weather. We're "next up" on the waiting list for a southern Italy tour this spring. Our friends from Canada (that we met on our travels a few years ago) just reserved their seats, and we hope to join them. Traveling just for fun will be a welcome change.

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend.

Grace and Peace.

Gillette NEW LC
Gillette Silver Blue (1)
Kent BK4
MdC Original
Alt-Innsbruck
Aramis

Happy Monday, gentlemen!

I enjoyed a fantastic one-pass-plus-touch-up boo-boo free shave on less than a day's growth. The NEW LC is my favorite all-around DE. It's super efficient, quite gentle if you have a light touch, and I like the looks and durability of the cerakote coating.

On another thread, there was some discussion about MdC. It's triple-milled and lasts a long time, lathers super easy for a non-tallow soap, and smells fantastic. It even looks fancy schmancy in the container, which is always a plus here in the backwoods. It's good stuff and has earned a top 5 spot in this hillbilly's den.

At the request of @August West's cardiologist or psychiatrist (I forget which), today's SOTD photo was taken knot down in order not to excite Tony with the full-bloomed splendor of the luxurious Kent silvertip knot.

We have a stretch of beautiful fall weather this week. It's prime time for getting outside and quite possibly ribeyes, taters, and cabbage on the Weber. I hope you all have a fantastic week, which should of course include copious amounts of ice cream.

Grace and Peace.
