Straight shave #169

Razor: Feather SS
Blade: Feather Pro (5)
Soap: TOBs Luxury
Brush: Whipped Dog Silvertip
Aftershave1: T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Clubman Brandy Spice

Well today was TOBs Luxury again, as I go every other shave. Trying to get this cream gone, and I kind of like using the same soap every other day. I really get to know the lather better and water tolerances. I think I will continue this practice. It will help me somewhat work through my soap horde while still having variety. on the other days. So tomorrow will be another SV soap. Teaser lol.

I finished up the shave with the Clubman Brandy Spice which is a wonderful scent. I will be buying a full bottle of this one.

Well after an absolutely wonderful day yesterday. Today it is back to work. UGH! Not really liking that, but here I am LOL. Connor is still on Spring Break but Megan is back to work also, so the kids are with my grandma today. I think it is safe to say Spring is officially here. My lawn is turning green, some tulips are trying to come up with there daffodil friends, the trees are budding, and two feral cats have adopted our back yard as home and well cats are loud if ya catch my drift. I think my wife is secretly feeding these cats. Both are getting fatter, and literally won't leave our yard. My wife is denying it, but I wouldn't put it past her. Oh well I had a gopher problem last year perhaps these two cats can manage that. But I swear if/when they have kittens and my wife tries to keep them, I think I will have to secretly box them up in the middle of the night and take them to the humane society to find good homes. Two cats, a dog, and two kids is enough for me lol.

Have a good day Cadre!

Nice shave today Chad...sounds like a good routine to get into. I hear you on the stray cat adoption, SWMBO does the same thing, so we have 2-3 strays that are constantly outside of our house.

Hey, well not a bad trade if it keep the gophers away. They are constant in our yard so chicken wire is going to be required when it’s redone.

Great set up. My wife will feed any animal that comes around. Not a big deal, but or regular dogs are very protective of our yard and bark their heads off at anything that looks like it wants to come into our yard.

The one I hate is feeding the birds. All the bird poop everywhere! Maybe the cats can fix that problem too!

Yea the gophers did a number last year. But I believe I eradicated the problem.

Yea my dog is barely 10 pounds sopping wet. She can't protect anything lol. In fact not sure if she's a dog. lol. But we love her.

Straight shave #170

Razor: Feather SS
Blade: Feather Pro (6)
Soap: SV Manna Di Sicilia
Brush: Stirling Boar
Aftershave1: T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: SV Manna Di Sicilia

Well Thursdays are my early day so the alarm went off at 4:00 AM. UGH! But at least I had a great shave to look forward too. I had a small pimple emerge on my cheek, and well Murphy checked in just to remind how sharp these blades really are. Well the pimple is gone lol. Aside from that the shave was wonderful. Really enjoyed it. Even if this scent is my favorite from SV.

Nothing crazy to report. Have plans to watch the Master's this weekend, and doing Sadie's family party on Saturday. Now if 2:30 PM can hurry up and get here so I can go home that'd be great!

Nice shave Chad, even with the pimple removal. I'm looking forward to the Masters as well!

Thanks Josh. The Masters and the US Open are two of the best sporting events to watch in my opinion.

You know Chad, most people just pop pimples.

LOL true Don.

Catching up Chad!

Great reads, shaves, and pictures!

I still can't grasp that Sadie is One year old!

Thanks Craig and I know. It feels like yesterday the doctor handed her to me and I handed her to my wife. Time flies. Have to cherish every moment with them.

Whew! Finally caught up, Chad! Looks like you are not suffering through many shaves. Good stuff, man!

I can't believe Sadie is one year old already! You're right, time flies. You will never have a better job than being a dad. I know I wouldn't trade it for anything!

Well, I think I have another 4-5 shaving journals to read through. Trying to read everyone's journal. A lot of great shaves on here

Straight shave #171

Razor: Feather SS
Blade: Feather Pro (7)
Soap: TOBs Luxury
Brush: Stirling Kong
Aftershave1: T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Pinaud Whisky Woods

Well the shave today was back to the TOBs that I am trying to kill. Maybe 2-3 shaves left, depending how much I scoop out. I know I said this earlier but I am really liking this style of shaving. Variety on even days and same soap/cream on odd days. Even though my soap hoard is still massive I feel like this is managing it better. I am sure it is a false security. As the buy now button will be being pressed soon on a few soaps that I want to enter my den. I also think I am going to sell a couple soaps that I just don't see myself reaching for that often. So perhaps a posting will go up in BST in the next week.

Anyways the shave today was very good. But on the last pass I could tell the blade was at that point where I need to do some maintenance if I want to push it like I did for the one blade challenge month. I opted to just bin and and am going to move forward. I want to call this a BBS shave, but I missed a spot on the underside of my left jawline. Which is weird because while feeling around immediately after my shave it all felt smooth. But now that I am at work, it is pretty obvious. NurseDave has talked about BBS after dry down. So maybe DFS after dry down is a thing. Left a little perplexed today. Oh well, I smell great, with the Whiskey Woods as my finisher.

Nope nada... totally spaced it. But go back to Wednesday's shave sub out the brush and aftershave and boom there it is lol

Homefront:

Yesterday I played Mr. Mom for the evening while Megan had a girls night with some of her girlfriends where they went shopping and to Dinner. So Sadie, Connor, and I player hotwheels on the floor. I found one of those buggers this morning while trying to find my shoes in the dark! Not as painful as legos but enough to make ya shriek lol.

So since I don't have a SOTD pic I figured I would post a weight loss update. Haven't posted one of those here yet. So I have been doing weightwatchers for a little over a year. Work pays for it, so it is free, so I figured why not. The weighing in weekly really helps the accountability, and it is all done at work. So I just head down on my lunch break. So anyways on Jan. 1st I made a new year's resolution that I was going to focus on my water intake this year. So I installed an app on the phone where I track my water. I have been sticking with it since then. So anyways since Jan 1st I am down 30 pounds. And since joining weightwatchers I am down 95 pounds! Two things one I am proud of my weightloss, and two I am kind of mad at myself that I let myself get that big. I still have about 35 pounds to lose, to be where I want to be. But it sure is nice to be able to go to the store and not have to search for a 3XL shirt any longer.

Have a happy Friday Cadre!

Outstanding, Chad...doing the every other day things sounds like it's giving you the best mix of being able to maximize your use of one soap without it getting boring...and as I've said before, the weight loss is phenomenal!

Congratulations on the weight loss. At this rate, you will be to your goal soon.

Well, what we have here is need for more letters in the shave. Is it a BBSR? In final rinse. A BBSB? After the balm. Or a BBSDD? After dry down. I imagine Dave’s grail shaves would be DSBBSRG?

Bonus points if we can use every letter in the alphabet lol

Razor: Rockwell 6s (plate 5)
Blade: Gillette Nacet (1)
Soap: SV Stella Alpina
Brush: Rudy Vey 2016 Group Buy
Aftershave1: T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: SV Stella Alpina

Well nothing quite like a nice smelling tumbleweed in the morning. Yup this is the soap that has a smell of tumbleweed to it. The overall shave is wonderful! I got a great BBS this morning and am ready to tackle this busy day.

Homefront:

Today we are having a party at the house. So you early to get some cleaning done. We are primarily celebrating Sadie's birthday with the family but also just an excuse to get family together. I was going to start up the smoker for the pork shoulder but sadly it has been raining since yesterday morning. So I'll do it in the pressure cooker. And of course watching some masters. Have a good day everyone.
