Straight Shave #196

Razor: Feather SS
Blade: Feather ProGuard (2)
Soap/cream: Soap Commander Recreation
Brush: Stirling Finest Marble
Aftershave1: T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Soap Commander Recreation

Well I did have a mail call yesterday from Soap Commander and included was the scent 'Recreation' this is Mango, Mandarin, and Dates. I love mango and I love Dates. So this was a no brainer for me. Oh man this scent is delicious. I eat Dates daily and I think that is the only reason I can detect the scent in here from that. The predominant scents are Mango and Mandarin but there are some other aspects to this soap beyond these three notes. This is such a nice refreshing scent on the strength of scent scale I would give it a 3 out of 5 any stronger than that I think it would be off putting, this one is just right! The shave was wonderful as usual for me. Soap Commander loves the water at my house and it is impossible for me to get a bad lather. The shave was effortless BBS+ for sure! I highly recommend this scent, while definitely fruity it is not over the top and easy to use.

Homefront:

Nothing crazy to report, the heat is setting in and the temps are climbing making it pretty unbearable, I am itching to get back up to the mountains. Good thing we have another weekend trip planned this weekend. With the 4th of July right around the corner I am also wanting to go get a small kiddie pool for the kids to play with in the back yard, and that is the reminder that the summer break is about half way over. Connor and Megan go back to school/work August 13th this year. School is going to end BEFORE memorial day. Which I guess is nice, but I feel like we are missing a good portion of summer with this change. Football season is getting closer, I received 3 phone calls yesterday from local High School coaches asking me if I would work their fall practice games before the season starts. I was able to accept two of them, so it is here! I actually tried on last year's uniform I need to order some replacement pieces. The pants are way to big, and the shirt needs to go down 2 sizes! I guess that's a good problem to have!

Anyways hope you all have a great Tuesday Cadre!

Great stuff Chad...going to the SC site now to look at ordering this scent! Looking forward to more football stories!!

Great shave! Sounds like I’ll have to revisit my tub of Commitment, the first use wasn’t stellar for me, I must have just developed it wrong.

Great summer plans to beat the heat! Looking forward to more good reads!

That new SC scent sounds marvelous! I may have to order a tub. How's the aftershave?

Thanks Josh. And just when I thought I was done with Basketball for a few months. A friend called and asked if I would work a tournament Thursday thru Saturday. Obviously i'm camping Friday and Saturday but I am going to help him out on Thursday. So perhaps a fun story might come from this.

Thank you! Soap Commander can take on a lot of water. When you think you've added enough just add a tiny bit more.

Great couple of shaves Chad!

Nice read and picture on the SC Shave!

Thanks Craig!

Thanks Chris. The scent is fantastic. The aftershave is the typical balm from SC. Scented to about the same strength nice skin conditioning but scent only lasts a few hours, as with all their balms. So I usually apply a cologne with it.

Sounds like this is a summer you will remember. A lot of family memories that the kids will have for a very long time.

And yes...the uniform proplem is a good one to have...albeit a little annoying.

Bring on the football! And maybe a little TSC logo patch on one of the uniform sleeves.

Sure is. Thanks Don

Nice shave. Congrats on needing to buy a new, smaller uniform.

Thanks Doug

The uniforms actually have to pass inspection so can't do any customizations to them. In fact it's a sore spot. They decided to add the UHSAA (Utah High School Athletic Association) logo to the uniform, and contracted through one company. So there is no competition on the prices. Shirt with the logo $45. Shirt that we used to wear $28.

Straight Shave #197

Razor: Feather SS
Blade: Feather ProGuard (3)
Soap/cream: Lisa's Natural Herbal Creations Somali Rose
Brush: Razorock Barrel Brush
Aftershave1: T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Avon Everest

Well today I grabbed another Lisa's soap just seemed right, as I work through my Utah based soaps. This one is the Somali Rose and to be honest just might be my favorite scent from her that I have tried so far. This is not the Premium formula but her regular(?) formula and to be honest I really enjoy it. It is not as slick and doesn't provide as much of a post shave feel as the Premium but the lathering is so easy! And it provides such a great shave I really enjoy it! So needless to say don't be afraid to buy from Lisa in any formula that she offers. I opted to finish with the Avon Everest and it was a good choice. While obviously not a perfect pairing it didn't matter.

Homefront:

Well today is supposed to be the hottest day of the year and with it already being 80 degrees when driving into work at 6:30 AM it is going to be hot! Thankfully we cool down starting tomorrow through Monday which is perfect for camping. This evening I will get the trailer plugged in and get the fridge to start cooling. Tomorrow I did agree to help a friend out and officiate the AAU Big Mountain Jam tournament here in Utah. He wanted me all 3 days but obviously fishing the river is on the to do list. So I will do 4 games for him tomorrow then get home and after the kids are asleep we will load up the trailer so we can leave when I get home from work Friday. All in all should be a good time and the little extra cash is always a nice bonus!

Have a great Wednesday Cadre.

Four games in a day sounds like a ton. Are these truncated scrimmage games?

AAU games and because of my ranking they ask for better officials to do the high school aged kids. The games are two 16 min halves and running clock. The games last about an hour with a 20 min break between games. 2 games equals about the same amount of running as 1 High School game.

Great stuff Chad...the Somali Rose is my favorite from Lisa's as well. I actually prefer her normal soap base to her premium line, but they're both excellent.

Thanks Josh. I agree the regular soap formula is VERY good. From the sound of things though she is making some tweaks to her premium formula and testers are VERY impressed.

Great shave. I am definitely going to acquire some of Lisa's products in the future.

Thanks Doug. You will not be disappointed.
