Chad's adventures of shaving, officiating, and life

Was joking about the outdoor shaves. About humidity, I hope to somehow rig an air conditioner up with my tent. I hate the heat as I work in it all the time.

Straight Shave #193

Razor: Feather SS
Blade: Feather ProGuard (10)
Soap/cream: Lisa's Natural Herbal Creations Coconut Oud
Brush: Maggards Black Synthetic
Aftershave1: T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Stirling Coconut Lime

Well up today is another soap from an artisan here in Utah. This one also Lisa's, the Coconut Oud scent. Oh boy I love this scent! A very nice coconut hits you at first and then the oud is in the background just rounding it out perfectly.

If you haven't tried Lisa's yet I would highly recommend that you do! You will get a Tier 1 soap that could arguably be pushed into Elite status, at a VERY good price. Her prices aren't out of control and the performance is excellent.

Everytime I have used the Coconut Oud I pair it with Coconut Lime. It all just works together in perfect harmony.

Homefront:

Nothing crazy to report here. Opened up the pop up yesterday and we loaded in a few things and turned on the fridge to get it cold before we leave tomorrow early afternoon when I leave work early. Everything looking good on the pop up. I also had some suspension airbags installed on the Grand Caravan which should help with keeping everything level as possible and ensure no rear sag, which there just a tad more than I would like on our last trip once we loaded in the coolers etc. For the most part of this week the temps have been relatively cool, but starting today we are going to be 10 degrees higher than yesterday so a high expected near 94. So needless to say a weekend in the mountains will be a great way to escape the heat.

Have a good day cadre!

Thankfully humidity isn't too bad here in Utah. And most of the places we camp there is plenty of trees. So we usually can get away with just a fan. But trust me the thought has crossed my mind to add an AC unit! I have seen people rig portable AC units to canvas tents so I know it is doable. Would definitely make it nice!

Good shave today, and I completely agree with you on Lisa's...definitely a tier 1 soap bordering on Elite status. The coconut oud is particularly nice, though the Somali Rose is most excellent as well!

Glad to hear you took care of the rear sag problem. That's something people talk about behind your back.

Somali Rose will be used soon also!

Those people are the worst! LOL

Great shave. I definitely want to give Lisa's a try.

Yes you do!

Lol!

Great shave Chad.

Thank you

Camping in the mountains...man does that sound nice!

Trust me I will snag some pics

OOOH I love Lisa's Coconut Oud. Not only does it smell great, if I recall correctly it is one of her "premium" soap formulas. For some reason the soap makes my skin burn a little so i don't use it too often. I had thought about passing it along but it is so nice I am willing to endure the burn...for now.

I had an opportunity to pick up a little pop up complete with some gear but my wife poo-poo'd the idea. I will be camping next week IN A TENT and i would much prefer to have the pop up. I just don't want to put the big tent up.

Hence why the good Lord gave man the ingenuity to invent inflatable mattresses!

I hear you on the tent thing. One of my buddies has a pretty sweet 4-man one that basically sets itself up once you take it out of the carry bag...he didn’t say the price though...lol.

jus don't want to put the big tent up.

I remember you saying that about the coconut oud. Really a shame.

We camped a couple times when it was just Connor and then tried it once with Sadie and Connor in the tent. I was done after that trip. Too hard to keep the kids cool, tents get too hot during the day and kids need naps! With the tent trailer I can keep it significantly cooler, and if/when it rains MUCH easier! Go buy the trailer man. They really are nice. And your van can tow it.

Aftershave2: Pinaud Clubman Lime Sec

Well today was lime day! And another soap from a Utah Soap Maker. This one the Beehive Lime Margarita I have used it fairly recently and I just love this scent. Lime Margaritas over ice NOT blended are a big part of my summer. And the stronger the agave taste in the tequila the BETTER. This scent hits the lime out of the park, and it smells just like my margarita! Next time I stop at the grocery store where she sells some of her soaps I might just have to pick up a few extras. I am going to be honest this might just be my all time favorite scent.

I finished it up with the Lime Sec and few spritzes of the Lime Coriander. Ready for the day!

Homefront

Well yesterday we finished the last bit of packing in the trailer. So now I just need to wait for 2PM to come along so I can head home, throw the ice in the cooler load it in the van, hitch up, and hit the road! This is a trip with Megan's family and her dad and step mom are already up at the campground in their trailer. They called yesterday to go over site numbers etc. He also advised that for them cell service is VERY spotty, and they had to take the 20 min drive into town to get service. We do have different cell carriers so perhaps mine might be better. So with that being the case there is a big possibility that I will be completely dark on the internet this weekend. And to be honest I am kind of looking forward to it. I will snap a few pics for upload Sunday evening or Monday morning. Hope you all keep the light on for me!

Have a great weekend Cadre!

All set up and we have signal. Phone is being turned off now. So thanks for all the comments today.

Here's home for the weekend

You look thrilled!

On a side note, that coconut oud sounds really good. I’ve got some on order!
