Chad's adventures of shaving, officiating, and life

Man to Man with the Big guy huh? That is something.

I am totally with you on the HeV Nautilus, mine is effectively unscented. I am able to detect a fairly intoxicating sub-scent that keeps me from tossing it, if it were stronger it might be a really cool scent. I spoke with the guy at HeV about the scent, I got the first release and so I thought letting him know was important. He said they had already stepped up the scent and offered to send me a tub of the "improved" product. I declined because I had already been given free shipping and didn't want him to be out the full cost. I love the performance and like the Cuban Cigar scent so I didn't need him to prove the Nautilus was better now. I would be interested to see if anyone who got a more recent batch thinks the scent is too light or if it is just right. ...intriguing scent for sure.

Well the talk didn't go as well as I had hoped. I have never met someone with so much pride before.

I know my nautilus is a first batch also. I'm not willing to buy a second tub but I do have the same curiosity as you.

Yes, when the summer is hot the family deserves ice cream from time to time.

I think you are doing the right thing with the Grand Poobah...err sorry...Grand Knight. If he is worth his salt he will accept your friendship and make the K of C a better place. If he dismisses you, then you will have more ammunition for next year.

Thanks Don. I was definitely dismissed. Time to move forward.

Sorry to hear this Chad...best thing to do at this point, as you stated is to move forward. His pride will eventually catch up to him when others see it for what it is.

At least now you know where you stand. It's best just to lead by example. You are doing the right thing no matter how deflated it feels. It's the Grand Knight's loss for not realizing what an asset he has in you. But look up, things will be great! Because it is you who gets to improve your Chapter and heal the riff. This is the place you are meant to be, and I believe that good things will come from it...even if it doesn't feel like it at the moment. We all believe in you Chad!

Have wonderful time!

All caught up again Chad!

So glad to hear the Sadie's surgery went well and she is doing better!!!

As to the election and then the one on one, not much I can say that hasn't already been said. Everything happens for a reason they say, even though at times we can't see or understand it. I'm sure you will do what you feel is best for you and your Church! I was kinda expecting the meeting to go that way from the impression I have of this person. In order for him to have accepted what you had to say, he would have had to have admitted, at least to himself, that he was somewhat to blame and in the wrong. Hard to get this type of person to do that IMHO.

Had plans of watching the US Open today but instead after mass I am going to take the family to the zoo and spend it with them. The weather is supposed to be cooler today and I am looking forward to a fun afternoon with the family.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there! Hope you have a great day. I was gifted a camp chef two burner stove with some accessories, really looking forward to breaking this in while camping! Connor also got me a trophy because according to him the best dad needs a trophy.

Nice one Chad, looking forward to the video when it's completed. Have a great time with the family, and Happy Father's Day!

Great shave and picture Chad!

Have fun with the family at the zoo! Don't tease the monkeys!

Straight Shave #191

Razor: Feather SS
Blade: Feather ProGuard (7)
Soap/cream: Lisa's Black Velvet
Brush: Sadie Brush
Aftershave1: T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Avon Island Lime

Well today was another straight shave with the Feather and this blade is still providing excellent results. My neck from the sun burn and the heat is still pretty sensitive so it required extra care there. While it feels very smooth I didn't go as far as I normally do, so I don't expect this smoothness to last as long as normal. I used the Sadie brush to whip up an excellent lather form Lisa's Natural Herbal Creations. Another soap maker from Utah. She makes great products at excellent prices. This is her premium line which is a softer consistency than her standard line. And to be honest I might actually prefer the standard line more. Both are VERY good, and definitely in my Tier 1. If you haven't tried Lisa's you owe it to yourself to order a puck and give it a go. You will not be disappointed! I finished it off with the Avon Island Lime which is just an amazing scent!

Homefront:

Yesterday at the zoo was absolutely a blast! Right when we got there they were letting people feed the giraffe's if you paid $4. Connor really wanted to do it so of course I forked over the $4.

Then as we went through looking at all the animals Connor really wanted to see the Polar Bears and the Tiger. The tiger was asleep but the bears where having fun

Then on the train through the African Savannah exhibit was a lot of fun and I can't think of a better way to spend Father's Day.

Going through the zoo Connor also kept asking to see a "blue snake" KJ will need to chime in if one truly exists out there. But anyways our zoo does not have one. But NO FEAR! When going through the gift shop to find the exit guess what they had? Yup a blue snake at a whopping $18. Then Sadie saw a baby stuffed giraffe with a blanket. And she was screaming baby baby baby. It took awhile for us to realize what she was screaming for... but once we found it she had a death grip on it! So $16 on that one, I had to rip the tag off to hand to the person checking us out. And that little baby giraffe didn't leave her side the rest of the day.

In the evening after the kids napped, my parents came over and we ended up at an Applebee's restaurant. It is not my favorite but it worked and I enjoyed spending the evening with my dad. I also did watch the last 6 holes of the US Open so the tradition lives on!

Have a good day cadre!

Nice shave today Chad, but that sounds like it was a most excellent day with the family, capped off with a nice dinner with the parents, (even if it was Applebee's) and some U.S. Open golf as a nightcap!

Connor also kept asking to see a "blue snake" KJ will need to chime in if one truly exists out there.

Absolutely. There are tons of them! Show these to Connor......

The Blue Racer, has a blue-ish/black coloring. Looks blue in the right light. I had one of these when I was a kid in Michigan, found it as a baby.

Also, the San Francisco Garter Snake has some lovely blue on it:

There's a Blue Tree Snake (Python)

And there's a wicked Blue Pit Viper!

Great trip to the Zoo, sounds like a lovely day.
Ask for a blue snake ...get a blue snake. I dig that Garter snake, I had one as a kid that was the more traditional black/orange color. Pretty good choice of snake for anyone new to snakes. I have a Grey Banded King Snake now that I have had for about 10 yrs.
