Chad's adventures of shaving, officiating, and life

Razor: Razorock SLOC
Blade: Gillette Nacet (4)
Soap/cream: Mystic Water Sweet Briar Tobacco
Brush: Stirling Kong
Aftershave1: T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Aftershave2: Avon Spicy

Today the stars aligned it was just perfect. I was in the zone. No trouble from the MW, an excellent lather, the razor and blade performed, and I got an superb BBS no irritation. Dare I say throw the dolphin in here?

Then I finished it up with the Avon Spicy. So far so good 90 min post shave still smells strong. This scent is it! This is the one! This reminds me so much of the Old Spice grandpa wore. Wow I love it! I am going to have to keep an eye out for some Spicy when at the local flea markets and antique stores.

Homefront:

Well we got everything ironed out with the insurance. Sadie has a pre-surgery appointment on June 1st. Then assuming all goes well there, she will have surgery on June 11th. This is a common procedure and they are under for a for short amount of time. So trying to not get overly worried about all of this. But I am nervous about my baby girl being on anesthesia. When Connor had a really bad infection two Christmases ago they knocked him out to do the MRI and seeing my boy limp was the scariest thing ever. Not looking forward to that again.

Anyways that is not what this weekend is about. This weekend is family time, doing what my wife and I have been dreaming of doing before we even had kids. Being able to get out of the tent and off the ground and camp as a family. I am really excited about this. I get off work early today at 2pm. Then head home to throw the cooler in the van, hitch up, and head south 90 minutes up into the mountains. We are staying at not a state park which are the campgrounds I prefer. Instead since this our first trip with the rig we picked someplace close that we could ensure everything works. In other words discover the small things that are going to be need to be fixed before the next trip. This campground does have electrical hookups and water hookups. So we definitely aren't roughing it, but still excited to get out! I don't know if I will be on as not sure if cell phone reception is there. If it is I am sure I will check in during the evening hours after the kids are asleep. I didn't pack any shave gear. So don't expect any shaves over the weekend.

I did attend the 4th degree Assembly meeting yesterday evening, just a quick meeting and signed up for a golf tournament so that should be fun to golf with some of the guys in a couple weeks.

Have a great friday and weekend Cadre.

Dude, no shave gear? I would consider that roughing it.

What do you mean no shave gear? It won't be a valid test of the camper's abilities if you don't shave in it.

Oh, and great shave today. I hope the Spicy lasts a while on you.

And if you go looking and come across Brisk Spice, get that too. Similar scent to Spicy, but even closer to vintage Old Spice.

Trust me I thought about it. But honestly the thought of just sitting in a camp chair enjoying a nice warm cup of coffee in the mountains sounded more enjoyable than a shave. I know I am as shocked as you are.

Hmmm good point. Next trip for sure!

Added to the memory bank. Brisk Spice CHECK!

Have a great time. Safe travels!

Thank you!

Good stuff, shaving-wise, Chad. I'm actually with ya on the lack of longevity of the Avon aftershaves.....Mystic Water stick is definitely the best route for me as well....Hope your daughter's health issues get resolved soon.

Wow guys it's beautiful here. I'll be behind on your journals. But here's some pics. Suprisingly got 19.5 mpg

In the zone is what it is all about, shave-wise!

And taking the kids camping is just the best thing, I'm sure. As a person who grew up camping, they are some of my greatest memories. Well done, Chad!

Looks like it's going to be a great weekend with that set-up, Chad! Have a great time with the family, shave or no shave!

Stop posting on here Chad and start relaxing and enjoying your weekend!

Wow I was way, way, behind!

Great shaves, reads, and pictures Chad!

Praying for Sadie!

I've seen the fb pictures. Hope y'all are having a great time!

Everyone thanks for the nice comments we are sadly home. I'll get caught up tomorrow. Waiting for dinner to be delivered. I guess it was a good trip when the only fit thrown was when leaving. Connor was screaming, " I don't want to leave... I love camping!"

While tearing down camp Megan forgot the stairs where put away and did fall out of the trailer. Once home we decided it best to go get an x-ray. No breaks thankfully. Just a bad sprain.

Here are a few pictures for your enjoyment.

Some great pics and what sounds like a great time. Sorry to hear that Megan was hurt. Hopefully the sprain is minor and that she will be back to her old self again. Glad you go to spend a weekend with the family!

Sounds like it was a great time Chad! Sorry to hear that Megan took a tumble, but glad that it's not worse.

Faces of pure joy! Nice!

Thank you.

Thanks Don. Yea she was in some pain this morning. But most sprains take about 3 days before things start to feel better.

Thanks Josh. Yes it could've been worse. Thankfully just a sprain but still painful.
