Chad's adventures of shaving, officiating, and life

Well since I finished my last 3017 I have been using some new items that have entered the den as of late. I have been using the Gillette Fatboy from Ed via @woodpusher and the razor is in excellent shape and has been providing great shaves. I have also been using the Parker Injector I purchased because @Luecke3262 had to point it out to me, and I love my Parker adjustable DE so figured i'd try the injector. This razor has just been okay, it's very aggressive even at the lower settings and I am playing around with different blades to find a better combo.

As to the soaps I have used this a few times that Chris added to our bag as at Vegas, I have really enjoyed it quite a bit!

The other soap came via the PIF table in Vegas, and it smells exactly like a Cherry Tootsie pop, but sadly it lit me up! Face was beat red... so i'll be looking to PIF this soap sadly.

The other soap that I was using was a pif from @Scuttlesoap I really like the face feel on this soap and the scent is very nice. Reminds me CBL when released those beer soaps. Thanks again for sending this really enjoying it.

Now to decide what to use for the next 3017?

Homefront:

It's the last week of school for the kids and summer is here. With our unusually cold spring I have not gotten the motorhome ready but alas we have 3 trips booked and planned in June so I really need to get on that! I need to do an emissions, recharge the trucks AC, replace the truck battery, oil change, and license it. OH YEA I also need to go put gas in the motorhome as well as refill the propane NOT looking forward to that at ALL! There is also the whole DE winterization process which means sanitizing the water tanks and getting all the antifreeze out. Going to a very busy here soon! All our trips are strategically within about a 2 hour drive from our house to try and keep gas expenses down sadly the gas prices will sideline us a little more than we would like. Anyways hope everyone around here is doing well I try to keep up on the journals!

Thanks for roughing it with the Parker injector! Sorry it’s super rough… lame

Good luck with the motor home and the Crazy amount of chores needed to get it going!

How long does this take? Do you need special chemicals to clean it out?
The antifreeze solution you put in the pipes is actually safe for human consumption. BUT I purchase a special sanitizing solution to run through the pipes to clean the tanks and also the pipes. So all in all it takes MAYBE 30 minutes for this process. But it does require a trip to the dump station after to empty the gray and black tank. All the at home RV stuff to get it ready to go will be one afternoon. The stuff at the dealership is well dependent on them LOL.

Alright life update time.

So those of you that have followed along know that back at the beginning of April 2021 I was laid off. While in that limbo period I did a lot of golfing and started getting phone calls from a VP in the company trying to get me back to working for them. After being jobless for only 3 weeks I agreed to go back in Mid May of 2021 even knowing that I wouldn't really love the job. The plan was to continue to look for other jobs and keep all options open. After many many interviews with other companies and even a few offers, nothing was ever quite right to take the jump.

Well about two weeks ago I was having a monthly check in with my boss, where I dropped the bomb and literally said I was being under utilized, not happy, and going to start looking real hard for something else. That was on a Tuesday. On the Thursday a VP in a completely different area called me out of the blue, and said he has a new position and wants me to come over. Well the logistics have come together and after negotiations involving salary, bonus, and options I feel like I got a really great offer and will be doing something that I am going to enjoy a lot more! This also adds me to the VP pool which will be the next logical step if I stay with this company. Anyways moving onward excited and nervous but happy that the last 18 months (I knew about the pending layoff well in advance) is finally paying off and something good seems to be happening. Time to enjoy some bourbon.

Nice update, Chad. We're never 100% sure of where our path with take us; the best we can do is try to make informed choices based on the information at hand.
