Chad Uses BAD blades!

Is it wrong or weird that I am starting to look on The Bay for strange blades to buy just so I can send them to Chad?

That's funny. I set the bar pretty low with the Graham Field.... you trying to lower it?

You’re welcome, good luck!

I'm nervous

I think the only way it gets lower is if someone alters the blade

FYI the one on the right is a custom made Jersey blade...it may or may not smell like a chicken cutlet sandwich. Just find a matching scent and go with it....

Volume 8 Super Homex Use 1

Alright well another bad blade shave today. Today the Super Homex blade. Here is what I know about them.

They appear to be made in Vietnam or in China for the Vietnamese market. It was really hard to find information about this blade, but was able to find some info from Alibaba (thanks Sharps). I found some past listing on eBay and also from Alibaba it appears the average price for these blades is roughly $15 per 100, so roughly 15 cents per blade. I am sure with time these blades can be had for significantly less money.

During the shave it lacked keenness and just doesn't seem that sharp, however I did get a pretty decent shave though. Definitely not wowed, and this blade will for sure not get the 100 pack rating. But it is serviceable and that's all I can really say about it.

I did do a video

https://youtu.be/_ZgvOY8F8Aw

I tried something new making the video shorter. Let me know if that is more ideal for this series.

Good to be back on track with the bad blade series. That little break was like a season break in my Narcos bin watching.

I like the shorter editing .. keeping the series focus all about the blade.

I liked the shorter format. Since this series is just about the blade, focus on that. I'm good with it.

But as long as you're talking, I'm going to listen, so if you've got enough to say to talk through your lathering, then I'm good with that too.

I think I will stick with the shorter videos for the bad blade series. And my other videos will be the longer ones.

Volume 9 Super Homex Use 2

Okay so I was trying to decide how best to rate up this blade. But first the shave. Today the shave went well, don't get me wrong, but it still lacked keenness it just didn't feel very sharp. I also did get a slight tugging on my second pass. This blad can provide a quality shave, but it reminds me of the Muhle no need to use it. While it will perform well enough I can get better shaves from other blades.

So here I offer the ratings

****RATING SYSTEM****
TRASH: Can't get a good shave. This blade is horrible. Never use again.
BAD: A bad blade but technically still got a serviceable shave, but have no desire to ue the blade again.
GOOD: It was good enough that if I have another blade I wouldn't hesitate to use it.
100PACK: This blade was good enough to warrant stocking up!

**** Blades Used ****
1. Muhle Rating = Bad
2.Van Der Hagen Rating = Good
3. Graham Field Rating = Trash
4. Super Homex Rating = Bad

Tomorrow I will record another shave and it is going to be the Shark Chrome Blade.
