CBLindsay's brain droppings

That is a great SOTD pic. Sounds like a stellar shave too.

I am interested in the puck of soap, if it is still up for grabs. I would also be willing to split it with another Cadre member if there is interest. I haven't tried many fougere scents yet.

Nice read, and nice photo.

Re: soaps. Have you tried making a bergamot scented soap yet? Just curious (hint, hint).

I tested an earl grey scent but have not made a soap with it by itself. I may have enough left to do so, I'll have to look into it.

Great read Chris. Sounds like a busy yet enjoyable weekend.... Like the ones where you could just relax in a lazy river with a few beers.

Yeah...well. Turns out when a “lifeguard” has to jump into waste deep water to pull a capsized tuber to safety an “incident report” must be filed.

Had a funny event while starting a 2 person tube ride. As the operator pushed my daughter and I awAy from the loading zone I shifted in the tube which resulted in my creating significant suction, stopping the tube dead in its tracks. Apparently this is a rare occurrence because the young lady laughed as hard as by daughter. All ended up fine but it was touch and go for a second.

Something about shaving a multi day beard just feels great.

This is actually why I typically don't shave everyday. I feel like I can get a great shave after a couple of days worth of growth. I love the way it feels.

Straight Shave #865

Dirty Hairy 26mm synth
CBL Stetson
Genco Easy Aces (in lined scales)
Stetson AS & Cologne

The kids are all out of school now (my daughter is actually away at camp for a week) so I really don't have to get up early...but I still did. I just can't sleep past 5:30 even when I am very tired. Ah well, at least I didn't have to rush a thing. Everything sort of clicked this morning, the brush whipped up a huge amount of lather and the lather felt great. The faint aroma of stetson was present while the Easy Aces wiped away the whisker. All in all today marks a very good shave, BBS and comfy.

Soap Notes:
I left the office a little early yesterday so I could return to the secret soap cave and experiment. I had made a small batch late last week that is great but I wasn't happy with the texture...fast forward to yesterday. I tweaked the recipe and process a bit and was rewarded with a texture that is exactly what I wanted. My typical Beta 3&4 are harder/firmer products, and I like that but I think my desire to make a firm product left the soap with room for improvement. Now that my focus is to make a firm cream/soft croap things seem to be improving.

Soap making, I smell another video topic or two. Mmmmm and good smelling too.

The mad scientist is at it again!! Nice shave Chris and as always, looking forward to reading about the new creations coming out of the cave!
