Brew's Foul Concoction

I started my shave and noticed that there were too many letters on the Tuesday Turtle's spine, even for my French. Somehow Wednesday jumped into Tuesday's slot. Tuesday, however, has some light rust on the shank, so I'm not using this razor until it gets sent to Doc for some magic. My sloppy, wet hands strike again. I keep the Feather in the medicine cabinet, usually loaded with a blade of mysterious age. I know this one has only 3 or 4 shaves on it, so I called and audible and had a great shave anyway. Alum didn't make a single remark. ASB was AoS lemon, followed by Tiffany for Men. Nice shave.

For those who celebrate, I hope you and yours are getting ready for some quality time together. I'm going for a hike in the woods shortly with my dog.

peace

Okay...I guess contracting tetanus isn't a good thing. 🤪

A walk in the woods sounds nice right about now!

Have a peaceful and enjoyable walk Larry

The rust is far from the edge. I'm more concerned with it doing damage to the inside of the scales, as I'm not sure there's much of anything by way of washers in there. I'm afraid that as the rust grows it will press inside. The Tuesday razor is in the Send-to-Doc pile.

Happy New Year. This has been quite a stressful holiday season for me. The holidays are usually tough for me, but throwing a career change into the mix had me just about maxed out. I gave notice in between Christmas and New Years, as I wanted to provide as much as possible. My manager was appreciative and very supportive. We started together at the company over 20 years ago, and she's been my boss for the past 5 or so. I'm looking forward to new stuff, though.

Right before the holidays I got a great gift package from @CBLindsay . Chris saw that I'm a fan of Shalimar, and sent this to me, which I take as proof that the stuff swings both ways so to speak (or did at one point in the past), as it was a cologne.

The package also included an automotive sponge replacement, which I haven't used yet, as I was using the Turtle razors when this arrived, and I don't change any part of my routine when shaving with those razors.

I've wondered if these would dull an edge. I'll find out shortly.

Chris also included a tonsorial Horse Power soap sample.

Thank you Chris!

Follow up: the rubber razor wiper is a no go for me. It sits way too low for me to comfortable wipe a razor on it. If anyone is interested in trying it, please pm me. FYI, you never know what else might show up in the box . . . .

Caught some hell from R.I. earlier today. My razors arrived, including my favorite, "The Old Gal." I'm reminded that I'm a slob. Guilty. While talking with Alfredo it occurred to me that these will be the first razors I've sent out in a couple of years. And it's probably been about a year since I've shaved with TOG. Although I can't wait to have her and the others back, I'm afraid I won't be able to put up with the edges on the rest of my razors. I know I'm in for a treat.

Here is TOG. Ain't she a beaut!

Shortly after acquiring TOG I learned what real tortoise shell looks like . . . .

Also on the way back is a relatively new Riga razor in some new bone shoes.

Ready to go fetch my dog and to stick a fork in this week. Enjoy.
