2019 Shave # 53 ( 108 Consecutive Shaves )

Razor: Rockwell 6s Plate #5
Blade: Sputnik blade #3 (2) Blade #2 (5) Blade #1 (18)

Brush: Razorock 400 Synthetic

Soap: CRSW Fragile Confusion
Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70

Aftershave 2: Oleo Soapworks Jacmel

Still concerned about the authorities so staying in the house today.....................actually pouring rain all day so another day to recuperate. As we type the report before some oatmeal

So I saw a The Club Novelist soap/splash set on another forum for $20 I couldn't pass up. That with the other 3 soaps I ordered is stretching the shelves so I decided to pic the soap that I thought was the closest to emptying and use it today. Enter Fragile Confusion from CRSW. I don't h̶e̶a̶r̶ see a lot of talk about CRSW Glide on these forums but I swear this gets a slicker lather than anything else I've used. It caused me to really chase the shave today and I have dolphins laughing as they slide around on an icy covered sea. All that with a capable but not a favorite Sputnik blade on shave 2. I like the Oleo splashes when 1st put on and as they dry down but they seem to be drying to the skin as a little time passes and it fully dries down. Not good for the winter months so may save to use come summer. Hope everyone in the Cadre has a splendid day !!

Glad your enjoying the purchases so far! What is the secret Glode ingredient? Lots of glycerin?
Keep in mind it's VERY soft almost a croap. Pulled this from there site to see the difference from their select versus the Glide formula
AN IN DEPTH LOOK AT SOME KEY INGREDIENTS

A great shaving soap starts with the right ingredients. Let's take a look at the key ingredients in GLIDE Shaving Cream Soap.

No water! Wait, what? No water? That's right, we replaced the water portion of GLIDE shaving cream soap with Aloe Vera Juice and Organic Goat Milk. The ancient Egyptians called Aloe Vera the ‘Plant of Immortality’ and used it in many skin remedies because of its healing properties. It’s truly considered a miracle plant due to its various benefits for skincare. Aloe Vera becomes the best ally for the recovery of skin during and after shaving. The extract of the plant becomes a powerful moisturizer, soothing the skin. Goat milk is particularly prized in a quality shaving soap since it helps to soothe, reduce irritation, moisturize and provide a hydrating softness to the skin after a shave. There are other milks used in soaps, mainly donkey milk but none contain the unique skin nourishing properties of goat milk.

Our Triple Butter & Tallow formula combines Kokum, Shea, Cocoa and Tallow. Kokum butter has fantastic emollient properties, Shea butter is incredibly nourishing and moisturizing and Cocoa butter is a great source of vitamin E and natural anti-oxidants. Tallow imparts a luxurious creaminess and elasticity to the lather.

How about a healthy dose of Jojoba Oil? Because of its low saturated fat content, Jojoba presents as a liquid oil with many properties that are beneficial for your skin, especially so as an additive in shaving soap. Jojoba oil contains vitamins E and B-complex for skin regeneration and is an excellent moisturizer.

The magic of a truly great shaving soap lies in the SYNERGY between its ingredients. Synergy is defined as "the interaction of two or more agents or forces so that their combined effect is greater than the sum of their individual effects." We have spent over a year and made hundreds of test batches to find the right combination of ingredients that makes Cold River Soap Works GLIDE the slickest and finest shaving soap on the market.

Goat cheese, Goat yoga, Goat milk soap. What can't they do!??! Really, I'm asking Don here.

I met the individual elsewhere and invited him here to be a member. I figured he would come out of the shadows when he wanted to and is ready.

TSC logo on a razor? Well that's a neat idea isn't it.

I have not used the Glide formulation but it sounds like it is nice. You don't see a lot of soaps with jojoba oil in them, it is quite expensive but I think it brings a lot of value.

Chris !!!! Good to see ya buddy. I know you've been busy, Thanks for popping in and thanks for the behind the scenes work. Looking forward to seeing the new digs soon.

2019 Shave # 54 ( 109 Consecutive Shaves )

Razor: Rockwell 6s Plate #5
Blade: Sputnik blade #3 (3) Blade #2 (5) Blade #1 (18)

Brush: Sorrentino Custom

Soap: Lakewood Soap Company Sweet Orange Chili Pepper
Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70

Aftershave 2: Terre D' Hermes

So I was really looking forward to today's shave for 2 reasons. I was anxious to try a new to me company's soap and to see how I get along with the scent. Short story is excellent on both fronts. I have a new Company to add to my watch for new scents list and fairly local to me is a bonus. The Orange is sweet smelling but not as in your face as other Orange scents I have like from Stirling (which I enjoy). It is more along the lines of CBL Orange Dirt and is a great scent to enjoy. It is subdued or cut with either the chili pepper or musk but comes thru perfectly. I forgot to use the Aftershave on video but it pairs perfectly with Terre D' Hermes. Looking forward to using the other 2 scents I have and adding more from their line-up. Hope Linda comes and joins as a member and perhaps a vendor. Have a great day Cadre !!

Good shave today Dave! I was waiting for you to use this particular scent as I thought it was a fascinating combination. I think of Orange Chicken or Orange Beef from a Chinese restaurant though. I need to watch your video to get your full impression of the soap.

Just re-watched my video and I should have talked more specifically to the attributes of the soap itself beyond the scent. I think it is an awesome soap. I was trying to think what I would compare it too but don't want it to sound like I'm putting another soap down. It lathers easy. handles water well and gets a rich, thick and slick lather. Residual is better than average for sure. In my book this is a winner and I look forward to using my others and adding more as they come out. I'm not a balm guy but have read good things about their balms and will probably at least try one to see how I get along with it.

Linda if you are reading..... We need some aftershave splashes that are not just scented alcohol but with good skin food in them, along the lines of Chiseled Face Groomatorium or Ariana and Evans. I think you'd get a following for sure with the right mix as the scents are GREAT ??

Excellent stuff Dave. I am also happy that I happened upon Lakewood. It is a very good soap! I like my Tier 1 rating not quite Elite but perfectly priced and a great product. The scent on the 1 soap I have is exceptional and strong, and based off your review that seems to be consistent. I am sure I will be placing another order soon with them.

I'm considering trying a balm and some bath soaps
