One Blade February Challenge

2019 Shave # 49 (104 Consecutive shaves )

Razor: Brass Prototype
Blade: Sputnik # 2 (4) [Sputnik # 1 (18) Killed]

Brush: Paladin 26mm Harlequin Chief

Soap: GD Elan
Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla

Aftershave 2: Aqua Velva

Quick entry. Getting my sense of smell back and enjoyed the juniper berry scent of this elite soap as well as the Aqua Velva. Spunik shave #4 on this blade and learned something. I will NEVER commit to another challenge that requires a month of being locked into any one item again. It's killing my ADHD especially since I had 5 days of January before starting the Feb blade thing with this blade. It's okay but not one I'll stock up on like my GSB, Gillette Rubie or Pol Silver SI. Have a splendid day Cadre !!

Glad the sniffer is working again Dave!

Any news on the progress of that prototype yet?
I was told there would be info posted here and he was looking at becoming a vendor here but haven't seen that happen yet. I see he has one for sale in rhodium where he sells but believe it too was a prototype. Perhaps he is in talks here and waiting for stock, but until he follows thru I don't feel right posting it here.

Keep in mind this is a budget friendly razor not meant to compete with higher end ones. Basically a generic type head design but in brass and some with coatings of gold or rhodium at very reachable prices.

Completely understand Dave. It’s not your place to put the info out there. I was just curious.

Dave says lack of choice can talk to the (Skin Bracer) hand.

Why you have bring Tim into this...Chad's the one from Utah!

2019 Shave # 50 ( 105 Consecutive Shaves )

Razor: Timeless .68 OC
Blade: Sputnik # 2 (5) [Sputnik # 1 (18) Killed]

Brush: Brad Sears Shaveworks

Soap: Storybook Soapworks Hook
Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla

Aftershave 2: Storybook Soapworks Hook

So shave 5 with the Sputnik which makes it my 23rd with this blade make. Went with the Timeless for an efficient but smooth shave. Working thru the 1st of 4 Storybook Soapworks on the shelf. Hook gave a great shave even though I think my brush was too wet to start. Working it a little got a great lather to where it balanced slickness and protection. I'm anxious to give my new to me ATT SE1 a try and now have a SS General enroute to compare. To get it, I had to buy a set of 2 Generals that included an Aluminum Model that I know isn't really a keeper. I prefer the heft of a SS and won't need 2. Will sell on BST for a good deal, as I did the other I had or on the bay for a profit if no interest here. Back to work today. Have a great day Cadre !!

Good shave man! Still have your Vector fund or is that still in progress?
Thanks Chris, It became the SS General and ATT SE1 fund. Not ruling a Vector out but decided I want to try one before dropping that much change or get a used one. Reviews I've read were split over it being better than the SE1 and SS less than General so I got 2 for the price of the one.........for now at least. Just seemed the more reasonable solution for me at the moment.

Understandable!

Nice few shaves, Dave and glad to hear that you're starting to feel human again.

I'm real interested in hearing your thoughts about the SS General, as I almost got that instead of the Brass (almost bought both)...since you've used both, I'm interested in hearing what differences there are.

No Josh, you can’t hog another.
