Shave # 362 ( 415 Consecutive Shaves )
Razor: Game Changer .84 SB
Blade: GSB (2)
Brush: Rubberset 400
Soap: CBL Rock the Casbah
Post: Lucky Tiger Vanishing cream
Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla
Aftershave 2: Nivea 2 into 1 Splash
Fragrance: Creed Aventus 2016

Nice shave today and it was more enjoyable with the .84 SB plate.(See I like mild razors but efficient) Great lather from the Rock The Casbah CBL Tonsorial.

Final Frag in the samples I have is Creed Aventus 2016
Here's what is said professionally about it:

Creed Aventus for men is a fruity chypre scent. Aventus was inspired by the life of an emperor and evokes a sense of strength, power, and success on the one who wears this fragrance. This sophisticated and elegant scent has notes of pineapple, black currant, birch, amber and musk. Sexy and seductive, strong and powerful, this scent has it all!
  • Top Notes: Pineapple, Apple, Black Currant
  • Middle Notes: Birch, Rose, Jasmine
  • Base Notes: Vanilla, Amber, Oak moss, Musk
It was good advice by @GearNoir to use a lighter scent to enjoy the Creed Aventus 2016. At first I had trouble smelling it much but went back for some more hits as I think this atomizer isn't cooperating. I definitely get a strong beginning of the 3 top notes listed and it then drops down in intensity. Almost undetectable to me without shoving my arm directly under my nose. I think the description of it as a Fruity Chypre is very accurate. It's a nice scent but not something I'd pay what is asked for it with soo many other more moderately priced options out there.

That's all I got. Have Stellar day Cadre !!!

I neglected to write about 2 other scents I had and spritzed on wrist to smell but didn't use. 1st I was mistaken in thinking this was just Invictus that already have. It was the Invictus Aqua:

Professional thoughts quoted "Designed by Paco Rabane for a man who is always calm and collected, the 2016 fragrance reveals freshness at the top with Grapefruit, Yuzu and Pink Pepper. Creating a lasting impression, the fragrance is resplendent in the middle with notes from Sea Water and Violet Leaf. The scent dries down to a crisp, woody and elegant base of Guaiac Wood, Amberwood and Ambergris for a fragrance that will not be easily forgotten."

To me: Not much different than the Regular Invictus which I much prefer.

2nd up was Amouage Imitation

  • A chypre leather fragrance for gentlemen
  • Represents the subcultures of New York City in the 1970s, an era of freedom
  • Earthy, spicy, addictive, warm & voluptuous
  • Top notes are cedrat, nutmeg & black pepper
  • Heart notes are Turkish rose, orris & violet
Was a little too strong for me and didn't care for the scent so didn't go beyond a wrist spray. Can't remember specifics. Thanks again Gus.

Great thoughts on all the frags Dave! I did't see it until today because I was largely off-line yesterday, but that YSL scent from yesterday is one that I have contemplated a time or two. In-fact...every time I am anywhere near some YSL...I smell them all. Not sure YSL makes I scent I wouldn't wear.
