Bourbon Country Shave Journal - Dave in KY

May be the sample packs. It did settle in nice after a bit to me and she probably is just comparing to most of what I have. I'm not really too big on florals.

Date: Wednesday September 5th

Razor: YUMA Razor
Blade: Pol Silver SI (1)
Brush: Paladin 26mm Harlequin Chief
Soap: Speick Shave Stick
Aftershave : Lucky Tiger
Cologne: Avon Leather

SWMBO has left for a couple days so it's Bachelor time. Ribeye ready to grill for dinner, back from work. Bingo calls done. Showered and shaved. Decided to go with the Speick Shave Stick again which is number 5 out of 6 days this month for Speicktember. At least 5 more to go but am enjoying it. I just have other soaps I want, no I NEED to try. Especially the CBL Soaps that have now arrived and everyone will be buzzing about. Off the tub I enjoyed all 3 scents so am REALLY looking forward to trying them starting with tomorrows shave. Today was nothing special but no issues to mention. Decided to use the old Yuma razor once loved in the other neighborhood but seldom talked about anymore. Went with the Avon Leather thanks again to our own KJ. Meant to mention that I know you could probably get multiple uses from these if you put them in a ziplock bag or something but today as I did yesterday and will for the rest of them I rocked it (Just like KJ does the VEG). None of these dainty little dabs on the temple or by the ear and on the neck. I rubbed it all over my face and neck and kept going until it was dry. I will say the leather is nice and settled down quicker and lighter then the Bravo yesterday. Master enabler has succeeded and I will be looking for these in the wild for sure.

Hope all in the Cadre are having a stupendous day !!

Date: Friday September 7th

Razor: Parker Variant
Blade: Pol Silver SI (2)
Brush: Yaqi 24mm Synthetic
Soap: CBL Premium Shave Soap-Ghost Lime
Aftershave 1: Witch Hazel
Aftershave 2: Speick

Okay so I waited till this afternoon, after work to shave today and enjoy the Ghost Lime which was a No-Brainer when looking over Chris' offerings. Definitely a Lime that reminds me of the Soap Commander lime I have and love the scent of but this tops that easily in scent with the cooling agent as well as performance. Easy to lather and a nice slick lather with cushion. Definitely a winner and hope Chris is blessed for all the efforts he put into making this available for us all to enjoy. Can't wait to try the other 4 scents I have. the Parker I started with on 1.5 as recommended to me and it was a nice comfortable shave but will probably dial it up more for next shave for more efficiency. Have some Bingo Calls in my video for those playing as soon as I can get it uploaded. The video also has my entry in the Hot Pepper Challenge as I ate and shaved while letting the time elapse. Hope all in the Cadre have a SUPER Day !!

And watch as the shaving man plays the cymbals with his knees as he eats hot peppers while on a unicycle!

Looking forward to the video. Curious what you think of the scent and the cooling!

Date: Saturday September 8th

Razor: Parker Variant (Setting 2)
Blade: Pol Silver SI (3)
Brush: Razorock BC Plissoft Synthetic
Soap: Honeybee Soap/ Cucumber Melon
Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla
Aftershave 2: Speick
Cologne : Avon Windjammer
Continuing with Speicktember and used the splash today. Lost count on days now but will look back. Moved on to setting 2 on the Variant and got a nice shave at that setting. Will move up to setting 2.5 tomorrow. I was actually very pleased especially on my neck with the smoothness that I am feeling as I write this. That's my problem area and that's a good sign. Little seepage around my mouth which is standard for me with the skin condition there and will be gone in m inutes. I used the Honeybee Soap from KJ (Thanks man) Cucumber melon. Nice subtle scent and good soap. Not the best out there but a solid performer with good slickness and at a steal of a price point. Hoping Sue gets to feeling better with the medical issues she is facing. Thoughts are with you so hang in there Sue. Topped it off with, again from KJ the Avon Windjammer sample cologne. I like this one for sure and have it near the top of my list with the Island Lime and Spicy. I'll do a list after looking back at the samples you sent and have been used. No picture today and my apologies for the video rendering debacle of mine yesterday. Lowered the camera settings to 480 and did a video. We'll see if that helps the uploading and I will do all I can to get it processed and posted. Allergies are starting to hit me so gonna try the Flonase nasal spray and see how that works for me this season. That's about it. Hope all in the Cadre are doing well and have a stupendous Day !! Especially you Jim !! Rest and heal up !!!!

A very solid shave to day Dave! Windjammer is definitely at the top of my list as well. Actually now that I think of it...Windjammer might be one of those scents that most people will like! Sorry about the allergies. I use the Flonaise myself from time to time. But when the season is really bad...I use Xyzal. It has recently been made OTC, but I still get it prescription. It's A LOT cheaper that way. Well, I guess if you count my insurance premiums then it isn't...but still. Hope your day goes VERY well!

Thanks Don. Put plug in my video for your Pif but at the rate it's loading it may be too little too late

I appreciate it anyway! I think we have a good number of people. I already have a couple ideas of how I can tweak this game. And if enough people have fun...I think I might make this a yearly thing!

Good shave Dave!

I take generic Zyrtec every day...still there are some days where nothing works and I’m pretty much useless, watery eyes, runny nose, headache, etc. Allergies stink!

Thanks Chris. I've been on it for years and stopped it a few months ago. Back on for 2 days and considering other options. Yep, they stink
