Get to get hooked up to wires and sleep in a strange place tonight for a sleep study. Not looking forward to that................
How they expect you to sleep like that is a joke
FOR REAL! Been there and done that! I may have missed it but what was the results?

Thanks for the reads and comments everyone.

Razor: Rex Ambassador (Setting 2)
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (1)
Brush: Eric Sorrentino Cadre Brush (Cashmere Knot)
Soap: Declaration Grooming Trismegistus
Aftershave 1: Thayers Cucumber
Aftershave 2: The VEG *Footnote

Posted a review that will be ongoing in the DE Razor section.

Enjoyed the razor but time will tell whether it is worth the price of admission for me (I believe $250 without discount codes)
Nice shave but on setting 2 doing cleanup as much as I needed I was starting to feel some rawness and decided to leave well enough alone. As seen in the list above the AS I am using is 1st time using "The Veg" which was a generous pif from KJ. I will say sniff off the bottle I and the wife thought it wasn't bad. Let me preface the conclusion with I REALLY wanted to love this stuff !! I even envisioned doing a video next use where I rival KJ with slathering it on dose after dose. In reality, after putting a healthy amount on I was willing to live with liking it. Walk towards my wife and after sniffing she said it's okay..........the death knell. And as I walk away she literally made a choking sound..........not on purpose. So I settle into the other neighborhood to type on their review thread and was hoping the scent would settle into something livable. After finishing there and coming over here to repost the review I could take it NO more. I went to the bathroom and washed (scrubbed) it off and put 2 huge doses of GTB on to cover it up.............I swear I heard the clouds part and the heavens sing in approval. Sorry KJ, I tried, but I am NOT one of the chosen and can DEFINITELY live with that !!!!

Have a stupendous day Cadre !!

*FOOTNOTE

The Veg is a fickle mistress for sure. I think low doses is the best way to ease into her. But hey what do I know LOL.

$250? $250???? That does NOT look like a $250 razor. I need some sexy with that high price tag.

I agree it looks nowhere close to a $250 razor. Heck Kate has much much more sex appeal and didnt cost me $250. With that said I have never attempted to try nor have I decided that i would like to try to find out if I am a chosen one or not. My missus has a really fickle nose

Razor: Rex Ambassador (Setting 2.5)
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (2)
Brush: Paladin 26mm Harlequin Chief
Soap: Speick Shave Stick
Aftershave 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla
Aftershave 2: Speick Shave Lotion

Trying to upload a video again but may be later today if the planets all align properly.

So another shave with the Ambassador today but on setting 2.5 and just as smooth as yesterdays if not smoother. I was more conscious of no pressure today and tried to pay more attention to the shave with the razor. I got an awesome shave and am impressed with it. Am I impressed enough for the entry price to own? Not yet but the jury is still out. I do notice a spot on my right jaw line that I missed yesterday and feel again today that I will see if I can correct tomorrow without irritation but am BBS everywhere else.

The soap I will reserve judgement on til tomorrow but the aftershave feels great and will definitely have a place for use in my den going forward. Hope everyone in the Cadre has a great day and better weekend !!

Speick aftershave is fantastic juice! Definitely one of my favorites. The shaving stick by itself, however, is about a Tier 2 performer with me. But, a super-lather with the stick and the shaving cream is excellent.

Great write-ups Dave! Looking forward to seeing what the final judgement is on the REX...

Dave
I have been enjoying your entries.
I see that you are using two different aftershaves. Is there a specific reason? I haven’t really used anything except witch hazel. I did pick up some thatchers (rose) but don’t enjoy the scent much.

\nThanks, I don\'t do colognes so the witch hazel and a Splash with a scent is more economical. You\'ll notice a lot do both. I just list it as 2 aftershaves.

Thanks for the reads and comments Gentlemen !!

Date: Sunday September 2nd

Razor: Rex Ambassador (Setting 3.0)
Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (3)
Brush: Razorock Big Bruce
Soap: Speick Shave Stick
Aftershave 1: N/A
Aftershave 2: Speick Shave Lotion

No picture today as it was the same setup except for changing out the brush. Razor for obvious reasons is the same and doing a Speicktember for the Speick products.

Round 3 for me and appropriately on setting 3. A little more blade feel again obviously in going up with the numbers but still a smooth shave and honestly I am hoping more efficient today. I have had good shaves up til now but after 10-12 hours had significantly more stubble than normally.(Recently I have been using my Rockwell 6c almost exclusively as my other favorites are out on loans.) Surprising as I had a nice smooth feel after the shave and assumed I was good to go for some time. I've noticed this with other razors at times though where you have the same smooth feel but some shaves last longer then others. For example. My Timeless .68 OC gives me a closer shave then my others. I know because the smoothness lasts longer then any other razors I've used. Even the 6c on plate 4 would have had me smoother longer then yesterdays shave. This is not a knock on the razor and clearly everyone is different. I am still dialing in the razor for me and experimenting with settings. That said we will see how long the smoothness lasts today and report back tomorrow in the entry that shave. Jury is looking pretty split at the moment with me leaning to saving my money as it hasn't whispered in my ear,"You need me more than any of your other razors"............at least not yet. Thanks again Gus for the opportunity to enjoy trying a pricey piece of craftsmanship. It is a VERY well built razor !!
