beginish’s Eye on a Splintered Mind

Never heard of Bebelush and more importantly, what kind of weirdo freak are you to throw away shave soap (even if it's bad) ?? 🤪
Orange and Bay Rum sounds like it might be a nice blend.

and seeing that I'm 4-6 weeks from finishing it, I've picked what I go to next.
When I'm about midway through a soap or AS, my mind wanders to what to use next, but I change my mind so often that I now decide the night before finishing a puck.

Working to add some variety to the routine, I’ve broken out the Sara Bonneyman lather bowl and have been bowl lathering Trumper Rose for the last couple of days. I usually reserve bowl lathering for creams, and since I haven’t had any in the den for more than 2 years at this point, the bowl has been gathering dust in the closet. I typically face lather to save time, but since my commute is now 30 seconds....

Anyway, I’ve been loading the brush the same way and then taking it to the bowl. I’m getting a ton of pretty decent lather out of it, and other than lacking a bit of slickness, the shaves have been pretty good. 8 year old Trumper still has it!

Bowl lathering for 2+ weeks now and I am very happy with it. It’s hard to believe, given the bad rep that veggie Trumper soaps acquired after the first reformulation more than a decade ago(!), but it’s really easy to build a good lather in the bowl. It’s not one of those bubbly, frothy lathers, but one that is rich and fragrant. Slickness still falls short in my book, but doesn’t compromise the quality of the shave.

In the bottom of the bowl thread in the soap/cream forum, I posted a pic of the soap from today, with very heavy wear around the sides and a nice hole in the bottom of the soap. The end is nigh!

I am glad that you are getting good lathers from Trumper's. I personally think bowl lathering is the way to go for every soap, but I am biased.

Remnants of the Trumper Rose are breaking up in the wooden bowl and won’t last the week. I’m at the point where I’m not loading enough to get the quality lathers I’ve enjoyed with this soap for the last 3+ months.
