TOBS soap as a ***? Wowsa! I've generally stayed away from the 3-Ts soaps due to their poor reputation. Might have to rethink this in 10 years when my stockpile of soap has dwindled.
The scent alone adds a star!
Nice Bob! Beehives seem to be quite a favorite handle type here. Must be very ergonomic!I've loved using the Somerset Simpson Rover the last couple of weeks, but decided to break out the Simpson Beehive (The 'Hive) in Manchurian today. I'm pretty sure this was a limited edition run that Mark at Simpson did several years ago, and I haven't seen (m)any others out there on the forums. It was the first Manchurian that I purchased, and loved the small/medium knot. The hairs are very resilient, and the tips are very soft, so you get a great scrubby effect when face lathering. I would have liked a slightly higher loft on the knot (which they did with the Jubilee), but it's a fine brush nonetheless. It made short work of the TOBS, and I got a great lather from it. It's really interesting to compare the soaps and how well they do with different kinds of brushes. The puck of Arlington lathered like a champ with synthetics, but I struggled when using badger and boar. Not so with Jermyn Street, which has performed excellently with whatever kind of brush I throw at it.

Totally agree! As an example, with the water at my house, Mystic Water. I cannot use a boar brush with this, only a dense badger or synthetic. Many other examples, but that's just one. Glad that you've got the TOBS dialed in.....It's really interesting to compare the soaps and how well they do with different kinds of brushes....
There’s a light at the end of the cart tunnel!I'm plugging along with 4 shaves left on the very last cartridge in my possession. Again, I'm able to get a full month out of each Sensor cart, though they get rougher by the end of the month. I'll move back to my Mergress with Lab Blue Personnas, and stick with them into 2020 until I finish my box of 100. TOBS Jermyn Street continues to deliver fantastic lathers day after day, and the Simpson Hive in Manchurian has been a treat to use. It's one of the reasons why I will always have badger and boar brushes in my collection, no matter how simple the synthetics make lathering. I'm down to the last 20% of my bottle of Harris Pink as well. I expect the TOBS soap and Pink to go belly up sometime in October, and then I'm going to have some decisions to make.

Will the Sensor make it into a keepsake shadow box? I think a placard titled “My dark years of shaving” would be appropriate.
Some good decisions I hope!I expect the TOBS soap and Pink to go belly up sometime in October, and then I'm going to have some decisions to make.
Yes. I'm thinking a tribute box to Philip Pullman called 'His Dark Materials' would be appropriate.
That's funny! On a related/unrelated topic. Not sure if you saw or not...But HBO is releasing...soon I hope...His Dark Materials series. I am expecting this series might be better than the previous Golden Compass movie. I really enjoyed the first book in the trilogy but never got around to the other two for some reason. Might have to remedy that soon!
No worries, I have 2 Mach 3 handles floating around.....Yesterday was my last shave with the last Sensor cart I had. As I said, I got a month from each cart, so they were cost effective for me (YMMV), but the plastic takes them out of the running as an option going forward. That leaves a Gillette stock Sensor handle and a Vintage Blades Mach3 handle with no future use in sight.
Back to the Mergress and Personna Lab Blues. My favorite DE is the Fatboy, but mine needs some servicing.
Well, I guess now you guys are even and it should be smooth sailing now.The DE's weren't happy with my cartridge affair and rewarded me with a nick this morning.
