One of the things I do as part of my 3017ing is rate the soaps and creams on a 3 star scale (* is a product with problems, ** is a good solid product that gets the job done pretty well but doesn’t set the world on fire, *** is truly memorable). I do 3 stars and not 5 because I don’t feel like splitting hairs and there really are (for me) only 3 buckets (bad, good, great). The vast majority of products are **, and only a few are truly bad or truly good.
I say this because I typically have only one of a particular soap, use it until it’s finished and then move on to the next. It’s rare that I have revisited products. Boellis Panama 1924 was one case where I split the brick in half and the second usage proved my original ** ranking as wrong. The stuff is truly outstanding.
I have now come to
My second re-scoring with TOBS Jermyn Street. On my first 3
months of use, it seemed a
straightforward ** soap. It lathered easily enough, decent cushion and slickness and ok scent. After 6 months with Arlington, though, which was troublesome, my most recent month with Jermyn Street has forced me to reconsider. JS lathers easily regardless of brush and the lather is really rich and slick, can handle water and holds up. I greatly appreciate the scent, too. Let’s welcome TOBS Jermyn Street to the rare company of Bob’s 3 Star Soaps.
