BarberDave's Shaveapalooza

Great couple of pictures Dave!

No need to worry about not posting or the other place. We know your busy!

I was thinking about you yesterday. Bargain knock-off site Wish had Creed on there. It’s gotta be knock off, but will order one for funnies, unless it’s toxic. Ya never know given it’s point of origin.

I tried ordering one LOL. It never arrived.

Well School is going well, an did have finally rid myself of the B&B Bullcrap in thinking, "you know... it is their loss". Was pretty jaded for a few days, but know realizing what type of sub-human folks they have managing it is better off that indeed I leave them in the dust.

If you will be so patient as for me to do a bit of self promotion, I have been in school for just under a month now and I am please with my progress. As I stated earlier, if you do not appreciate what your barber does, do so!. I have a respect for them now, being inside the workings than ever before, I never realized the technical decisions that have to be made on every haircut. The owner of the school ( been cutting since 1953, and was ranked 2nd in the world ) looked at this haircut, what is called a "Gentlemen's Cut", and also the state board exam haircut we must complete, came up, inspected, and said " For three weeks in, this is outstanding, you were meant to do this... Why in the hell did you wait so long".

Being self critical, the compliment was a real boost, the client loved. I was questioning my skill level, as I have a tendency to over analyze everything, so it re-invigorated me.

Here is the cut:

As to my shaves this week, all good and with the 70th it is hard to get bored. Thanks for reading

STARDATE: AD:20180708 SR Shave #954

Pre-Shave Lather / Hot Towel & Rinse / 15 Laps TM linen / 50 laps TM Strop
Post-Shave: Lucky Tiger Aftershave Salve / Cold Towel &

J. Lindy Gold Dollar Mod
Matt DeRuiter "Purple Neon" / Amack Synth.
THB Lavender Creeper Shave Soap
THB Lavender Creeper Aftershave

Ahhhh, finally back to a straight, and we must be getting close to the apocalypse as never in history have a missed a release of a soap. I even have double warning from Jim, but with school and other items, I usually come home and collapse. As was the case on a date I will never forget! The date Tangerine Creeper was released and I %^##^&%$#$ fell asleep and missed it!. Really bummed about that, but maybe next time, LOL

As to t
he shave, the lack of daily straight shaving has led to some technique degradation, and applying a bit too much pressure. No cuts or anything, but the Creeper lit me up a bit, so will have to call this one BBS.

I will also state that DE shaving, even though you may have the nicest products, it like being on Auto-pilot and rather boring. I may try to get up a bit earlier, around 0430 to see if I can get back on the Straight regiment, but if nothing else I may go injector or Gem type next week

Set-up:

I know I sound like a broken record, as I have been a ghost lately, but I am truly sorry on not being caught up with your journals, and am going to make a concerted effort of at least read the most recent posts to try to get somewhat caught up. I wish there was 30 hours in a day, LOL

Thanks for being such valued members of the TSC, and I hope to get a bit more active soon, just know you guys are appreciated more than your know.

Dave...YOU THE MAN! Really, though...What a great compliment from a very well respected and established barber! We love hearing about your progress and are excited to follow your journey!

As far as the other place...be done with it man! It isn't worth the heartache. I know I have said my peace and anything that I had issues with won't be changed. Just get on getting on and life will get better!

We are all rooting for you in your journey!

I hear what you are saying, but I’ve had bad experiences with barbers in the past. I used to take my boys, and we tried a few barbers around town, and they never got good haircuts or anything close to what we wanted.

Dave, I think I can speak for all of us in saying we are so pleased right along with and for you, that you have solidly found your calling for this chapter of your life. The pieces are definitely clicking together for you!

Great shave today, even if the skills needed a brush up!

I don't need to respond since Chris already spoke for me ^^^^^

Just kidding. Glad the classes are going so well, like there was ever a doubt.

Great shaves and pictures Dave! I see barber school has not effected your photography skills!

Excellent news on the complement at school! Sounds like you are having fun and that is all that matters anyway!

Glad to see you posting. That is a better haircut than I get around here. Keep up the good work.

That cut looks great. One thing is for sure, ask a “stylist” for a gentleman’s cut and they look at you like you just said “I want a hair cut”. It’s like they don’t know what a gents cut is auto look like

Great to hear that the schooling is going so well Dave, and I'll join in to say that also glad to see that the nonsense over at the other place is being left where it needs to be. Great job on the haircuts, though sorry to hear that you missed out on the THB release...it was a feeding frenzy. 300 units sold out in 7 minutes. Pretty crazy.

Dave I am glad you are having such success at school. I am very particular in who cuts my hair. But I guess I would let you cut my hair.

Hmmm, maybe it's time for me to go to an actual barber with an old guy that knows what he's doing...

I am very glad that you are doing so well at school. I am glad that you are following your dream.

As far as the "other site" goes, you are right that it is their loss. You are better off without all those shenanigans in your life. I am glad that you are here.

Keep knocking the dust off them there sandals Dave. I am glad school is going well for you! I agree that man got himself a great hair cut!
