1st off Happy Father's Day all, and to my friends "Happy Muthas Day" LOL

1st day of Vacation and still up and 0430 preparing and trying to get stuff done before the forecast of 112 degrees melts everything. What better way than a 1st look at a new soap and aftershave, not to mention an excuse to have another shave set to use the Coca Cola Brush from @Smattayu . I will be taking this soap set with me on the Vacation, so a final review is pending. This is a 1st look.

A journey indeed with this soap. No doubt of the drink "Cuba Libre" with all the Coke and lime. A bit less of a cardemom note would be nice, but did not detract from the soap at all. The Sniffs off the puck are completely different when on the face where it really opens up to a wonderfully fragrated Journey.

As is typical with Eric's Soap they are wonderful and easily Tier one with the likes of CBL. Easy to load and explodes to a thick creamy lather. It is a water hog, so hydration is the key to perfect glide, slickness, and residual slickness as well. I expected somewhat of a linear fragrance of Cola, Lime, and effervescence. However there is bunch more to this and each pass brings out nuances in this soap. Not only do you have what was mentioned before, but also hints of Cigars and leather. Both the Drink and the other frags play leap frog throughout the shave. Very Nice!

The aftershave is unique as well not quite liquid, not a gel, nor a cream, or milk, but truly a thick sauce. I used way to much, however this can easily used as a EDT as well. After dry down, the face feel is amazing. My only knock would be that the menthol is too high for my liking, however if you are a Menth Head, you will love it. Also this is all LIME forward with just hints of cola, and no cigars notes that I could find, and the menthol to me was an eye stinger. So I would increase the Cola and Effervescence, and tone down the menthol. but that is just me.

It in NO way detracts from the overall experience of Cuba Libre. and is highly recommended

DSBBS with the General and a great shave.
