Arran Aromatics Machrie Shave Soap
Arran Aromatics Machrie Aftershave Balm
Penhaligon's Blasted Heath EdP
1st look and shave of another Arran Aromatics offering. This time Machrie. Located on the West Coast of the Isle of Arran, it is about 28 miles from the island of Islay. It is also known for its driftwood. In fact, the original name of the fragrance was indeed driftwood
@NurseDave . Another complex scent profile with Sea Salt, wet briny wood tones, oakmoss, clary sage, and rockrose which gives it just a small floral undertone, but comes across as more of a citrus. A very clean, cold, and very woody aquatic.
The lather is as expected, using Lochranza's shave as a comparison, SOS is about the same and great face feel for "The Wraith" to skate around on. This razor continues to impress, and further is grabbing gears and quickly speeding away from any of the Feather DX or SS line. Which heretofore has been the gold standard in Removable Blade Straight Razors. A great 3- pass DSBBS shave. Along with the Alum, I added back in the Lemon Thayers to compliment the Aftershave Balm. Today, used much less and was rewarded, as the balm is very nice, matches the soap perfectly and has great face feel
l.
Finished off with Penhaligon's Blasted Heath EdP. This is a hard one to match, but, finally a soap and after shave made for this fragrance bomb. Sea Salt, Oceanic, ozone, Clary sage, kelp, and wood. A perfect match. Bvlgari Aqva would be another great match for this soap. As mentioned in yesterday's video I have the EdT's for both Lochranza and Machrie on the way, so poor Blasted Heath will need to find another match somewhere, LOL. Overall 1st impressions of both Arran products are fantastic.

KONA FILES: Yet again, on my 2nd Saturday of the week, and errand day, Kona decided his new way of not waiting for me to get his lazy butt up, is to jump onto the bed, with maximum hang time, use Sharon as a "4-paw drive" testing area on terrain, thus creating a plethora of adjectives, and name calling pointed at me and El Doggo, and then punching me in the head, as a reminder he need to do "his thing". Today he added the CPR move he has apparently learned. So punch, chest compressions, punch and then have Ruger the cat walk on your face! Ya ok I am up, really 0530 again. Gotta love how on my days off he is ready to go, but during my workweek, not so much.
today he gets to go to the bank, and get his treats and fawning from the Tellers, and tomorrow he goes to the groomer. Ahh the life of dogs, and the human attendants who serve them. Would not have it any other way.
