Merry Christmas Eve to all who celebrate. It’s warmed up to 38F/3C here, so the snow on my driveway is melting. On my wife’s and my son’s recommendation, I began watching “You” on Netflix last night. It’s about a kind, hipsterish bookshop manager who is also an ethical serial killer apparently, along the lines of Dexter. Looks interesting, so I’ll watch some more today, though no one even died in the first episode. I hope everyone’s day is as productive as mine. 🙂

Good afternoon, Cadre. I hope all is well with you and your families this day after Christmas. We had a nice quiet celebration at home. I know most of you are as disappointed as I am that the Steelers were beaten by the Chiefs, but life goes on. The better team won. I read that there were numerous complaints about the streaming on Netflix, but we had it on a local channel here. The NFL should be embarrassed that most fans had to watch it on a pricey streaming service. I wonder how their viewership numbers were. Hopefully, they were down.

Happy Friday, Cadre. An unseasonably warm day here with our high of 50F/10C, partly cloudy day. Should be even warmer over the weekend, though probably with rain. We shall see. I’ve been thoroughly enjoying “You” on Netflix. As my son described, it’s dark, but funny. Just the sort of show I find appealing. Enjoy the weekend! 🙂

Happy New Year, Cadre. Hope we are all well. For today I’m hoping for some good football. I just tuned in the Arizona State v. Texas game, and AZS just tied the game with a TD and 2-pt conversion. Rooting for AZS for you @BarberDave (really just rooting against Texas because well, it’s Texas). Saw a good chunk of Penn State’s win last night, but totally missed Michigan’s win over Alabama (apologies to @MarkB). I haven’t a clue what games are on later - supposed I’ll check in a bit. Be well. 🙂

Thats funny I am rooting for Texas. Being a U of A Alum we HATE ASU. similar to hating the Cowboys

Hmm… last I checked, Dallas is in Texas. Are your sports loyalties as schizophrenic as mine? Interesting.

OK, Texas won in 2 overtimes. College football OT rules make no sense to me. 😵‍💫

Alabama deserved to lose that game. Absolutely horrible performance. 😠

HAPPY NEW YEAR CADRE!!

An Afternoon shave, as was putting away all the decorations both inside and out for another year.

For the 1st shave of the year, it is back to basisc, and an old School Vintage Shave. Start out the year with humble expectations, and everything after is a winner, even in our daily shaves. Today was a vintage puck of Colgate, and a Semogue 620 Boar... My 1st boar brush , so many years ago. It is soft as any badger now, and equal to any of my synthetics in face feel and lather building ability. It sits quietly on the shelf, often overlooked, as the Bougie Badgers, and synths, seem to get the lime light.

Next the Gillette President. A cased unassuming TTO, that again sits in its case patiently awaiting the call up, as the other more Modern Razors and Str8's get picked. Finally Skin Bracer....

The drug store cowboys, sitting next to its Kin Aqua Velva on the Vintage shelf... Skin Bracer is all about a smack of menthol and a heavy talc dry-down , leaving one with a Fresh clean feeling, after of course you get smacked by the Bracer part, LOL. Today it was all about the above simplicity, not minimalism in any way, just basic. No alum, no talc, no fragrance, no witch hazel. Just a basic shave BBS, not DSBBS, and that is OK as I have the next 364 days for Stellar DSBBS Shave

Happy Day After New Year’s everybody. Cold day with snow flurries earlier. Another day staying at home, getting stuff done. Tidied up the garage some so it feels less cluttered. Have a great evening, Cadre. 🙂
