I shaved for years with Arko, when traveling.
Not at all fond of the Tabac or the Clubman. The Arko's scent smells more lemony than urinal cake to me, but I just don't think it's that good of a soap. I expect more from a soap than Arko delivers.

Agreed. I was underwhelmed when I first tried it…especially after hearing some gentlemen wax poetically about it. An easy lather, no question, but a drying one as well. Imho, the Palmolive stick is a much better product.
Does Canada still have the green Aqua Velva?

Early morning shave and then stuff went sideways today. Oh well, the shave was good. I’ve had a good 3 days with the Tech and am looking forward to switching it up for tomorrow.

I was inspired by a few friends on here to grab for the Fine tallow puck today. A great lather. I didn't realize it at the time, but it was very bad news indeed when the company in the Netherlands who made this puck for Fine shut down.
The Occam's DE is a quality shaver as well (especially in this full scalloped plate), not sure why I don't grab for it more often. Oh well, I look forward to running with it for a few shaves.

Not sure if I'm the best person to answer this, Jeff. The only Simpson brushes I have are synthetic knots. The CH2 synthetic is a fantastic knot. Dense, yet soft. As good or better than any other synthetic I own. Yes, imho, it is worth paying a few quid for.
I also had 2 Trafalgars (T2) that the knot just wasn't lofted enough. I think I would have loved a T3 though.
Now, are the handles worth it? I have the Ivory coloured CH2 and I would say I'm not a huge fan of this Chubby- I'd like it a bit taller...but then I guess it wouldn't be a chubby.
